Waffles And Pizza – Sunday Brunchin’ – #1

Hello pretties,
Hope your Sunday was great. It was beautiful here in the A, nice cool temps and lots of sun. Today is the start of a new feature on the blog, Brunchin’ where I share delectable brunch spots in the Atlanta area and anywhere else I find a good brunch meal! First up Public School, take a peek…

Public School is located in Atlanta’s up and coming West Midtown. The name alone caught my eye and I knew if it was in West Midtown, then it was probably gonna be good! Upon entering the restaurant, the old school decor is on point, took me back to 5th grade. Everything from the assortment of globes and vintage microscopes to the the larger than life flash cards and vintage set of encyclopedia (pre- Google…LOL), I knew if this much thought was put into the decor, then the meal would be A+.

The Public School menu was a nice assortment of “traditional” brunch food but with a twist. We opted for the chicken and waffles with a fried egg on top and the eggs benedict which was transformed into a pizza with prosciutto, minus the english muffin. And both absolutely delicious, A++! A carafe of mimosas accompanied our meal. For a sweet ending, we split the strawberry shortcake, but it was a miss. Doused in mint, it just had an awful taste, C- is a generous grade. To be fair, the waiter did bring us a version without the mint, but I think my taste buds were traumatized from the minty mess.

Overall, I give Public School an A! Its class motto is “an Education in the Art of Food & Beer.” The restaurant serves lunch and dinner and hosts a weekday Recess (happy hour)from 3pm to 6pm. With the school house decor, superior service, a not so traditional brunch menu, and you can play darts, life-size Jenga and Connect Four, I am looking forward to my next field trip to Public School.

What is your favorite brunch meal?

Sure sounds yummy for those who love the bird. But I’m sure there is something on the menu for me and of course double on the mimosas. Enjoy every minute my dear. . .

Too bad dessert was a miss. It sounds like a place hat hubby wouldn’t mind visiting. Thanks for sharing your honest opinion with us, Robin. Great post!
