3 Lessons I Learned From The Royal Wedding

Hello pretties,
Still basking in the beauty and joy of the Royal Wedding. Actually I had not planned to watch it, but I woke up just when it all began and I must say I am glad I did. The entire ceremony was beautiful from start to finish – my highlights, Bishop Curry’s message and the Kingdom Choir. I was so moved by both. Bishop Curry’s message of love was much needed and timely given the current climate. And the Kingdom Choir, just absolute pure beauty, their voices like angels. I just love them and will definitely try to see them in person somewhere in the UK or US!! Oh one more thing, Meghan’s Mom, regal and proud, she has a fan in me. I turned off the television thinking I believe in love again…here is what I learned…

Lessons Learned

1. Get out of that dreaded comfort zone, you know the one where you text, talk, and meet. Don’t be afraid to try something new like a blind date! Prince Harry and Meghan met on a blind date. I have never been on a blind date but definitely open to trying especially if my close friends suggested someone cool! After all, they know me pretty well!
2. Be open, I realize my dream partner might not fit that perfect picture in my mind. I don’t think Meghan actually dreamed of marrying a Prince! I am willing to drop my prototype for the real thing.
3. Setup boundaries when needed. The press hounded Meghan and Prince Harry put a stop to it. I might not have paparrazi chasing me in Target, but if the people around me are being negative or not supportive, I will shut them down!

I am rooting for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex! Did you watch the Royal Wedding and what was your favorite or most memorable part?

Weddings – Faves On Friday

Hello there,
It’s Friday, yep love Friday. What are y’all doing this weekend? My plans are still a bit tentative – a bit under the weather, but I’m sure it will be fun! Last week I posted some pretty print dresses for the wedding season. Today’s Faves on Friday are all about weddings. Enjoy!

1 – A social experiment is how the show is described, but I don’t know if I could be Married At First Sight! Have you all seen this show? A team of experts pair couples who agree to get married, honeymoon, and live together for 6 weeks to decide if they want to stay married or get a divorce? It’s an interesting show
2 – You could participate in a social experiment and take your chances, but before you “I do” ask these 20 questions
3 – Even if the bride or groom don’t cook, this is the best wedding gift ever (can’t believe I want one of these – I don’t boil water)
4 – My all-time favorite love story – it goes to show, what is meant to be will be – An Affair to Remember. This movie makes me believe in love, an oldie but a goodie for sure
5 – If I ever wed again, this will be my bouquet – absolutely gorgeous and a super easy DIY

Weddings are a billion dollar industry, that’s “b” billion – with the average wedding, according to the experts, at almost $30,000. That’s a whole lot of dresses, cakes, flowers, invitations and grilled chicken. Now I’m not against big weddings at all – the bride should have her dream day, but I would say have a smart wedding. There are so many things a bride can DIY that will not only save money, but add a personal touch to the wedding festivities. Y’all know I love a good DIY and no surprise, I DIY’ed my program, floral arrangements and napkins and a few other things for my wedding. This is one of my favorite seasons, best wishes to all the lovely couples tying the knot.

Have you been to any great weddings? Do tell! Have a fab weekend pretties.

Dresses In Pretty Prints

June 1, 2015 by robincharmagne

Hi Pretties,
The last weekend in May was a blast, Friday dinner with a good friend at Article 14 here in The A, so good and I had my first charcuterie – so delicious, celebrating a friend’s 40th birthday on Saturday – a sports themed party, too much fun and vegging out all day on Sunday, feeling refreshed today.

Welcome to June! A couple of highlights for the month are Father’s Day and the First day of Summer, good stuff! But June is most popular with brides as a favorite month to tie the knot. Weddings are so much fun, but what to wear?? Of course the bride rocks the prettiest dress, but a dress is always appropriate for a wedding. I’ve handpicked 5 choices from SheInside in a pretty print. SheInside does a fab job with unique prints that make these dresses a standout. Take a peek!
