5 Places To Stay – Let’s Go

5-Places-To-Stay-Not-In-A-Hotel

Hello pretties,
July is my month with birthdays and vacation, it is time to hit the road. Where to stay is a big part of vacation planning and besides airfare is your second biggest decision. As a confessed hotel snob, I am always on the hunt for a cute place to stay. But hotels are not your only option. Here five options for your next getaway…

Alternatives To Hotels

Bed and Breakfasts or B&Bs are small homes that have been converted for guests. With this experience you get a cozy place to stay and you can mix and mingle with other guests at meals or in common areas like a yard or patio.

Recreational Vehicles or RVs is basically a house on wheels. They include many of the comforts and convenience of home like a kitchen, bed, and a bathroom. RV’s come in many shapes and sizes from the tow version that hooks up to your truck or SUV to massive coaches.

Vacation rentals are a nice home away from home. You get the full run of the house including kitchen, living/sleeping spaces, laundry facilities and sometimes extras like a hot tub, grill, pool table, and games like PlayStation 2/ X-Box or vintage arcade games. You can also rent a condominium with similar accommodations.

Capsule hotels a small room for one person. Expect usually a bed or mattress, radio, and TV. This is a no frills, inexpensive option. Rent more than one for the family.

Villa a big estate usually tucked away in the countryside of your destination. You will typically have a well appointed kitchen, living/dining areas, multiple bedrooms and a swimming pool, patio, or garden. Some villas also come with a service staff.

There are good alternatives to hotel stays in the full range of pricing from cheap to luxury. If you’re not feeling adventurous, TripAdvisor is a good resource for lodging. Which one would you try for your next vacation?

Western Caribbean – Cruise – Let’s Go

August 7, 2015 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Hello,
Happy Friday! I was supposed to post these on yesterday, but I really had not gone through the pictures and I didn’t take that many pics. Unplugging was at the top of my list, so taking it all in was my priority and only capturing snaps here and there, on and off the ship (pic heavy, sorry for the slow load)!

Cruise Style – OOTD #63

August 5, 2015 by robincharmagne 18 Comments

cruise-style-on-robincharmagne

Hey there,
The week is humming right along, getting it all done. So we’re still talking cruising this week and today I’m sharing my cruising style. You don’t need a whole wardrobe for a cruise, just a few key pieces that are cute and comfy! These three styles are for casual, day, and night but could be interchangeable for sure.

Casual Look

The casual look is perfect for a day of sightseeing. The tank is made of a breathable flowy fabric to keep you cool. The shorts are made of a stretch denim making them very comfortable for lots of walking.

Day Look

This look is perfect for sea days on the ship. The fabric is so vacay appropriate in a floral and again a breathable fabric. I chose a two piece because I wanted the option of interchanging the top and the bottom, but you can duplicate this look with a jumpsuit in a fun fabric. Get ready to hit the casino, view the art gallery, or just veg-out on the Lido deck in this relaxed look.

Night Look

This maxi was my most favorite cruise style. It is super sexy with the deep v-neckline and gold chain detail on the back. I hate I didn’t snap a pic of the back of the dress. For the most comfort get a breathable fabric, this is a poly blend. The oversized ruffles add some interest without adding weight to the dress. Rock this for night-time activities such as a dinner, a show, or an outdoor movie.

Cruise style is a “breeze” with just 4 or 5 easy pieces – tank, shorts, jumpsuit/floral tank-pants, and a maxi. Enough for sightseeing, chillaxin and dinner.

What’s your vacation style? Do you buy a whole new wardrobe or use what you have?

My 5 Takeaways From Cruising

August 4, 2015 by robincharmagne 14 Comments

carnival-breeze-on-robincharmagne

Hey pretties,
So yesterday I posted some motivation to get your Monday going. Real talk, Monday is my least favorite day of the week. I was feeling so blah after a fabulous birthday and vacation, but then a friend posted those 5 Daily Reminders which uplifted my mood. I hope you liked them too!

This week’s posts are mostly going to be about cruising and such! I had not cruised in 14 years so the anticipation was through the roof. This cruise was 6 days on the Carnival Breeze leaving from Miami traveling to Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. The experience was so much fun and far exceeded my expectations. I’m sharing the things that “made” this cruise experience awesome.

It’s time to go!

Hello pretties!
I’m backkk!! How was your week and weekend?? Can’t believe I was away for a week but vacation was a blast!! London is one cool city, like New York’s first cousin. I’m sharing lots and lots of pics, so divas and dudes please forgive the slow load time!

I have nothing but love for London! The hotel was not only quite nice – but the staff treated us like Divas, very accommodating. We found Londoners to be friendly and helpful. I was a little leery about the food scene, but when I tell you everything we devoured was delicious, I’m soooo serious!!! London is known for huge markets(Camden and Portabello were awesome) and big names like Harrod’s (a shopper’s dream) and Selfridges. My favorite part of London? The tube. Best transportation system I’ve used while traveling!

That’s a peek at the vacay/bday trip. It was truly an amazing trip and I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to visit a beautiful city like London. Have an awesome day!

These Shoes Were Made For Walking Or Sightseeing

August 8, 2014 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

travel shoes, flip-flops, flats, athleisure

flip-flops//sandals//flats//athleisure

Happy Friday y’all,
Tomorrow is vacation, oh yeah, oh yeah! My vacation style is lots and lots of sightseeing – there is no such thing as taking too many pictures. If you’re walking about capturing the sights and sounds of your vacation spot, you’re going to need a good pair of walking shoes. Now your choice really depends on your shoe style and where you are going. I’ve curated 4 good choices.

Walking Shoes

If you’re taking a quick weekend jaunt to the beach, the flip flops are a good idea. Comfy and nice in warmer weather. Taking a staycation in your hometown, sandals are fine for short walks visiting a historic neighborhood. Stylish but still comfortable. Oh, taking a weekend seeing a show in a big city, the flats will work for day or night attire and still be trendy and comfortable. And how about walking the streets in a foreign country, athleisure shoes are comfortable and suitable for the cobblestone or rugged streets you might find in a foreign country.

I’ve mentioned comfort over and over because nothing will ruin a good vacation more than achy or sore feet. My suggestion, forget being cute and get a walking shoe that matches your vacation agenda.

What’s your favorite walking shoe?

I’ll be posting a bit less next week but do stop by and follow me on Instagram for all the sights!

Have an awesome weekend pretties!

Beach Bum

June 4, 2014 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

beach wear, dress for beach, beach vacation

shades/dress/earrings/flip-flops/watch/backpack

Hello,
If it seems like I’m ready for a beach vacay…I am! I posted about a beautiful beach resort and I think that just put me in the mood to get out of town! Fortunately, vacay is only a few weeks away. This dress screams beach, do you see that palm tree print? No frills – just pull it over your head, slip on ya’ flip flops and shades and be a beach bum! A backpack is perfect for the beach, big enough for a water bottle, camera, and a good book, but still super cute. A beach vacation equals fun which equals easy dressing and simple accessories.

The good thing about living in Georgia is the beach isn’t that far away!
