Traveling Coach Isn’t So Bad…

August 1, 2014 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

Hello,
Happy Friday! This week has flowwwn by and so did the month of July! But August signals the countdown to the birthday vacation trip. I’ll be deviating a bit from our weekly topics and posting a few more on travel. Going First Class is high on the bucket list, but this time around it’s Coach for a long flight but there are ways to make Coach feel better, if not just like First Class.

One of my favorite travel gurus is Sonia Gil. She is very quirky and a bit offbeat, but she explains travel topics in everyday language. She has a whole video series on travel covering a wide range of topics, from packing, to hotels, to fashion. Sonia has come up with some quick tips to make Coach feel a little more luxurious.

Coach, First Class, travel

Do you travel Coach or First Class? What are some of your tips for improving traveling in Coach Class?

Have a peaceful weekend!

travel bags

Hello,
I’m so excited to share with y’all the cutest travel bags ever! Packing is a gigantic part of travel these days, especially when airlines are charging an arm and a leg with excess baggage fees. So we need to use all the tricks we can to pack smart. These travel bags are designed for accessories. There’s a bag for every piece you’ll carry on your trip. And of course these could be multipurpose and hold other small items, such as safety pins, small flashlight or a mini sewing kit. These are a steal too at $31 bucks for all 5 bags. You could keep a couple and gift a couple. Great gift for a new grad! Head over to QVC and snag these accessory travel bags.

Hello.
Yes vacation season is upon us so let’s keep planning for the best trip ever! Today I’m sharing 5 more travel planning tips!
travel tips, travel planning tips, airline rewards, hotel rewards

Homework

You’ve got lots of travel “to-dos”. Have a favorite airline or hotel brand? Yeah you need to be racking up some rewards! Here’s a tip – companies want to reward loyalty so why not reap the benefits! A word on credit cards – ask your credit company if you can transfer to a different card that offers travel rewards – not advocating debt at all, but again reap the rewards where you can and where it makes sense financially.

I’m always looking for the best travel tips so do share yours!

Pack Your Bags Let’s Go!

Hi there,
That quote is so true. I am a strong believer in vacations, staycations, getaways, day trips, any place that gives me time to relax and recharge. I’m excited today to start a new Thursday series of sorts – Let’s Go. This series will focus on places to go all over the world. Some places I’ve had the pleasure of visiting and some I’ve only visited in my dreams! My mantra for YOU is just go!!

Passport

First on the itinerary is the passport. Do you have one? Oh cool! Need to get one? Okay, here is a neat infographic on how to get a passport so you can go!
passport, how to get a passport

Doesn’t that sound easy? The current fee is $165 for a passport book and card with regular processing. You can find out more here.

I’m ready to go, hope you are too – where should we go first? Would love to hear your suggestions.

Yak Pak And A Giveaway

September 3, 2013 by robincharmagne 8 Comments

Hello Pretties,

Disclosure: I received a complimentary product to review. Please note that all opinions are 100% my own and I only accept sponsors and products that fit this blog.

Did you enjoy the Labor Day Holiday? Catch any good sales? Believe it or not, I didn’t buy one thing over the holiday weekend. But if I did, a handbag would be my first choice. I posted about my love of handbags and I was thrilled when the lovely folks at Yak Pak sent me a very pretty tote to review. Yak Pak, a New-York based lifestyle brand, started in 1989 and produces an array of accessories including backpacks, messenger bags and casual accessories. They are regarded as industry leaders in providing bold and forward thinking designs and styles for their accessory line. I chose the travel tote.

I really loved the vibrant colors in this tote and the deep center pocket that closes like a purse. The size and weight of the tote is perfect for traveling. The deep inside pocket provides easy access for all my essentials, e. g. cell phone, makeup case, wallet, keys, checkbook. Yep, this tote held all of those things I don’t leave the house without. For travel, I would not be concerned at all about theft with the deep pocket, so I would also put my camera and foreign currency in there as well. And, most important, this tote is constructed nicely and is high quality. The vinyl makes it super easy to clean! I would only add one feature to this tote and that is an inside zip pocket. I enjoyed carrying this tote and look forward to using it for upcoming travel.

Now guess what? The kind folks at Yak Pak are offering you a free accessory. Use the Rafflecopter tool to enter! Good Luck!

Hello Pretties,
We’re in the middle! Is it me or does time seem to be zooming by at light speed? Warm weather brings vacation dreams. The print in this top had me thinking about laying on a sandy beach, looking out at the deep blue sea, sipping on a fruity drink with a good read, Revenge Wears Prada maybe. Here’s the OOTD Thirteen!

Hello pretties,
Travel season is upon us and today’s blogger is a true travelnista, meet Toya from Ms. Travel Chic.
Venice Gondola

What inspired you to start your own blog?

I am very passionate about travel. When I would take trips and post photos on my social media accounts, I often had friends comment that they “wish” they could travel too. I wanted to start a blog to show people you don’t have to “wish” that you can travel well in luxury accommodations (if desired) for affordable prices. I also think is important no matter your relationship or financial status to see the world and take a well earned vacation. Its my hope through my experiences, tips and resources offered via my blog it will encourage more people to travel

Finish this sentence. I cannot leave home without my…

iPhone. I’m pretty much addicted to Twitter and my email these days

Who is your celebrity crush?

Well I have plenty but if I MUST pick one it would be the distinguished and sexy- Idris Elba. He’s like the perfect man

What are three things you love about your city?

I’ve lived in Chicago for 5 years, what I love about this city is:diversity of people, lifestyles and culture, the lakefront, especially in the summertime, and shopping – from high end departments stores on Michigan Ave to thrift stores and boutiques Chicago has great shopping

If you were a pair of shoes, you’d be…

A Purple Peep toe Pump! My favorite color and style of shoe

What trend are you seriously crushing on right now and where would you buy it?

I’m not a trendy kinda girl fashion wise but I currently love peplum blouses and dresses and ASOS is my go to place to purchase them!
