Bag Of Jewelry – May Mono Box

May 31, 2016 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Hi Pretties,
Bag of Jewelry is somewhat an odd post title, but that is exactly what the May Mono Box contained. So this is my fourth box from the I Love Jewelry Monogram Box and I am so sad to say my least favorite box, take a peek…

bag-robincharmagne

Yep, that was it, a bag and two pieces of jewelry. The bag and the necklace are the personalized items this month. I do like the necklace, but it is so similar in style to this piece. The earrings are silver-tone crystal studs, actually very cute but not exciting. The jewelry bag is just a pouch with my initials which I guess I can find a use for – either related to travel or to crafting. These three items did not meet my expectations. I think I got so spoiled on the last box with the tumbler and the scarf that I anticipated this box being on that same level. The box is $21.95 a month for at least three items. I think I will still keep going with the subscription for at least 6 months. Hopefully next month’s box will be a bit more substantial.

Have you ever started and then stopped a subscription service?

Nautical – April Mono Box

Hi pretties,
Nautical goodness, that’s how I would describe the April Monogram Box, my favorite one thus far. I am still loving this subscription service. Nautical was the the theme for this box which contained three awesome goodies, a scarf, a tumbler, and a necklace, take a peek.

The scarf’s nautical theme is right on time for Spring and Summer fashion, definitely want to incorporate into a future OOTD. The size is perfect, wraps around the shoulders very comfortably and the fabric is not too heavy, just right. Love the fringe detail too. Of course, I can always use a good tumbler. Love the clever phrase paired with the anchor and this tumbler is not flimsy, but made in a sturdy plastic with a hard plastic straw. And, the necklace is not in the theme but it is the personalized item in this month’s box. So dainty in gold with a nice 18 inch chain. Perfect layering piece.

I am sticking with the I Love Jewelry Mono box, every box has usable, fashion forward, well made items at a good price $21.95. The only downside I have mentioned before is the packaging could be improved. The items are just packed in the box with packing material but not neatly wrapped or anything fancy. You can view my other boxes here and here.

Are you rocking anything nautical for the Spring and Summer season?

Subscription Service Just For You

March 29, 2016 by robincharmagne 4 Comments

subscription-box-on-robincharmagne-1 (2)

Hello Pretties,
Subscription Service designed just for you? Yes, I posted my first I Love Jewelry subscription box last month and today I’m sharing the second box I received. So this box is from the company I Love Jewelry that specializes in monogrammed gift items, such as, jewelry, clothes, decals, and more. As a big fan of anything personalized, I was immediately attracted to this subscription service.

My obsession started way back from a vacation pit-stop at a place called South of the Border on our way to New York or somewhere North. All up and down the interstate would be signs, “100 miles to South of the Border”, “25 miles to South of the Border.” When we arrived at South of the Border, the whole property was all lit up and had aisle after aisle of chotskies- the ships in a bottle, water globes, shot glasses, velvet artwork, and my favorite, refrigerator magnets. You know one of those tacky souvenir shops that I love! Robin is not a real unusual name, so it was easy to find on all kinds of stuff with my name on it. One leather bracelet with Robin embossed on it and I was hooked for life. Take a peek at the goodies…

The packaging could improve to be a bit more neat and more cute.

subscription-hat-robincharmagne

The hat is good quality. The stitching is done well. Not feeling the white though, easy to get dirty

subscription-bracelet-robincharmagne

Love the gold and black color combo

A magnetic closure? That’s awesome

subscription-earrings-robincharmagne

The size is good and drusy quartz is definitely on-trend

As a reminder, for $21.95 you get three items each month. There weren’t in clothes in this box, but I guess the hat would be considered a clothing item. And, the two pieces of jewelry, that were not personalized. I liked this month’s subscription box too! The jewelry thus far has been unique and of good quality. Also included was a discount code to get 15% off on the site. I am quite pleased and committed to 90 days of boxes. After the next box, I will decide if I want to continue the service.

Do you have a fond vacation memory that led to an obsession or hobby?

Monogram Box Subscription Service

March 7, 2016 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

mono-box-cover-robinchamagne

Hello,
I received my first Mono Box over the weekend. I really hate the name shortened to Mono…LOL, short for the Monogrammed Subscription Box. Y’all know I have an obsession and yes it is an obsession with personalized any and everything. So I was stoked to begin this subscription service from I Love Jewelry. Take a peek at my happy mail…

mono-box-contents-robincharmagne

mono-box-tshirt-robincharmagne

I loved everything in this mono box. In a soft white color, the t-shirt is good quality and in a little different fabrication. The fabric looks similar to the burnout style and is very lightweight. The monogram is in gold and is a good size just perfect for a t-shirt. To add interest, the monogram is placed along the hem, versus in the chest area.

mono-box-earrings-robincharmagne

The earrings are gold tone, but in a unique shape. They are solid but do not feel heavy at all. This is not just your boring hoop earring.

mono-box-long-necklace-robincharmagne

And the long necklace has a monogrammed gold disc suspended from a crystal and pearl chain. The chain is a good length and perfect for layering with other jewelry pieces.

Every item in this box has something to add a little extra flair. To get started, first, you select the metal color, since I wear my gold watch most of the time, I chose gold-tone. Next, you choose your initials or any letters you choose. For my sorority girls, good gift since you can enter letters, i.e. AKA. And then you select the clothing size. I would like to see them expand the sizing options. Then each month you receive 3 items – one monogrammed item which could be clothes or jewelry and two surprise items which might be earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, sunglasses, decals, lip gloss/polish or a pouch. Remember it’s a surprise. This subscription service is well priced at $21.95 a month and would make a very unique gift idea for anyone that shares my obsession with personalized jewelry and gifts.

Can’t think of anything negative about this service, so fun and the quality of the items was better than expected at this price point.

What do you think of this subscription box? Do you participate in a subscription service?

Cate & Chloe Jewelry Subscription Service Box

May 18, 2015 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

*I received this box to review, but all opinions are 100% my own.
Hello,
Pretties, was the weekend all kinds of fabulous? My weekend was quiet, just chillaxin around the house, a lot of tv watching and a lil shopping – of course. I saw some really cute jewelry pieces but I didn’t buy anything. I have been anticipating getting something good in the mail. So, I was thrilled when I got home and found a sweet pink box from Cate & Chloe.

Tastes Good and Good For You – Nature Box

February 4, 2014 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

Nature Box

nb3

Hello,
We’ve chatted a lot about subscription services as the perfect monthly treat for you or as a gift for someone you really like. Last year I subscribed to Birchbox a beauty service where each month I receive a lovely brown box full of beauty goodies from established brands and from up and comers, all for just $10 bucks a month. I mentioned in December I wanted to try a new subscription service, enter Nature Box. I enjoy a good snack, or two, so in line with the 50 by 50 challenge, Nature Box delivers some tasty snacks that are good for the bod while keeping me on the challenge.

Nature Box is a healthy snack subscription service that delivers a box of healthy options for snacking. This first box had 5 good size bags of snacks and all 5 were tasty. Nature Box offers a variety of snacks from granola, dried fruits, pretzels, trail mix, bars, and nuts to choose from each month. Now the pricing for this service varies based on the box size – Deluxe, Family/Happy, and Smart Snacker. I chose the Deluxe box for $19.95 a month which contains 3 to 5 servings of 5 different snacks (about 6 oz for each snack bag). This box is perfect for a single gal or a couple. The next size is the Family/Happy Snacker ($29.95) and contains 10 full-sized bags. And the Smart Snacker($49.95)has 20 bags of snacks! This works great for a large family!

The verdict: Taste gets an A, with a nice mixture of spicy, sweet, savory and crunchy snacks full of flavor. But price gets a D. The $20 or more price tag is a bit much for snack foods. A much healthier and cheaper snack is definitely fresh fruit. I’m leaning towards a NO on the Nature Box. So on to another service and of course I’ll keep ya’ posted. And BTW, I wasn’t compensated for this review.

What’s your go-to snack?

Hi Pretties,
Today is my Friday, so I’m all smiles! But a little sad too, my last Birchbox for 2013. Last year I suggested a subscription service as a great holiday gift that keeps on giving. I chose Birchbox and for $10 each month I receive a box of goodies related to health and beauty. It’s like having a personal shopper to go out and try these goodies and send you the best of the best. The products are sample size, but definitely usable and you can buy the full size products on the site. Now one aspect of Birchbox I didn’t use much this year and really should have was the Points Program. You can leave a review for each product to get points on your account and translate those points into dollars to buy products.

This month’s theme is Sparkle and Shine for the holidays. I don’t really see the how the products reflect the theme but I do like the moisturizer that’s also a makeup remover. Birchbox introduced Cynthia Rowley’s makeup line and the Birchbox mobile app so that’s good news.

For the most part, I have happily ran to the mailbox to snag some awesome products, but towards the end of the year, the boxes were less “Wow!” and more “What?”. I’m leaning towards continuing Birchbox as I really do love sampling the latest and greatest in health and beauty every month for just $10 bucks and you cancel at anytime. I’m giving Birchbox a B+. Use this code to start your own Birchbox http://birch.ly/1h2Qnbl. Can’t wait to hear what you think!

I’m considering a second subscription here. Are you considering a subscription service for 2014?

Birchbox – October

October 17, 2013 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

Hello Pretties,
One more day before the weekend because Friday really kicks off the weekend! I can’t believe my Birchbox subscription is almost ending, only 2 boxes left. The theme for the October Birchbox is Beauty Buzz, and contains products that are buzz worthy. Here’s a peek!

Birchbox October

Gommage

theBalm

Altelier
DDF
Chapstick

The Details:
Serious Skincare – Glycolic Gommage Extreme Renewal Exfoliating Facial
the Balm – Stainiac in Beauty Queen
Atelier Cologne – Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolue
DDF – Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer Moisturizing Serum
Bonus – Chap Stick 8 hour Lip balm

I’m ashamed to say I have never exfoliated my skin but the Gommage Exfoliating Facial sounds like it will bring back the healthy glow and in just 10 minutes. I generally only wear fragrance when I’m going out at night and prefer woody, floral scents. I’m loving Calvin Klein Euphoria right now. But talk about fruity, the Atelier Cologne smells just like oranges…LOL. This is a fresh clean scent perfect to dab on for day events. It’s a bit pricey at $95 a bottle. Most buzz worthy is the 8 hour lip balm – no more applying and reapplying. As the weather gets cooler, this chap stick will definitely come in handy and keep this in mind as a great stocking stuffer!

The goodies in this box seemed a little on the light side. Perhaps Birchbox is gearing up for bigger boxes chocked full of goodies for the holiday season. I’m starting to research a new subscription for 2014, I’ll keep you posted.

Do you wear fragrance for day or night, or both?

Birchbox

January 24, 2013 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

Hello Pretties,

Last Christmas, I suggested subscription services as a great gift for the person who has everything. Well, I wanted to try it myself and signed up for Birchbox. Weeks went by with no word and then I got an email and guess what I have a subscription.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I chose the $10.00 plan where monthly I get a box of beauty and lifestyle goodies from name brand companies as well as new and upcoming brands. I’m not a real beauty and cosmetics girl so I thought a subscription service would be a good way to learn about products and trends so I can share them with YOU!

Simple packaging! I like it!
