If We Were Having Coffee – Year End Edition

December 30, 2016 by robincharmagne 8 Comments

robincharmagne-drinking-coffee
Happy New Year’s Eve eve,
Last blog post of the year and I’m sharing my thoughts on 2016. I’m having my fave, Dunkin Donuts Original Blend, a good cup of joe!

1 – This year was challenging, terrifying, heartbreaking with the loss of loved ones – but I’m still here and stronger.
2 – You need sister-friends to lean on in tough times. Some days spent crying uncontrollably, wondering if the tears will ever end. Some days spent just talking and remembering. Whatever I needed, they were there and I love these girls forever.
3 – Actions speak louder than words. Some folk yak all the time about what they are going to do, want to do, thinking about doing and never do a dayum thing. It is not what people say, it is what they DO!
4 – Travel is my therapy. Opening the mind and heart to other cultures makes you more appreciative, patient, curious and less judgemental. God created this whole big world, why not see as much as possible.
5 – It’s cliche, but everyday is a chance to start anew and January 1, 2017 is no different. It’s never to late to start or finish. Go!

Fall Trends Under $25

October 26, 2016 by robincharmagne 4 Comments

three-trends-under-25-on-roincharmagne

Hello pretties,
Fall fashion trends are in full effect and today I am spotlighting three of my favorites for October- bomber jackets, booties, and statement necklaces. How fun is it to jazz up your style with a new trend and there is no reason to spend a whole bunch of coins! I handpicked 9 examples of trends all under $25, yep a jacket, or booties, or a statement necklace at this amazing price point.

Who does not love a bargain?? Especially this time of year as we gear up for holiday shopping?? I have said many times on robincharmagne, fashion does not have to be expensive. Now, of course you can wear all these trends together in a cute outfit or try a flowy midi skirt with the bomber, a sweater dress with the booties, or add just the right touch of pizazz to an LBD(little black dress) with the statement necklace.

How would you style one of these trends?

Pillow Talk – Fall Home Decor

September 13, 2016 by robincharmagne 4 Comments

pillows-fall-robincharmagne
Hello,
Pillows, the easy, inexpensive way to update your decor. The first day of Fall is just a few days away so now is a good time to transition your decor to warmer, fall tones and pillows are great transition pieces. I handpicked some pretty choices in brown, orange and even a black choice.

Pillows add color to your space, but they also add texture with fabric or design. If you are worried about the space being too “themey” just add one pillow in fall tones. Then, from that pillow, pull a few colors for solid color accent pillows. And, don’t relegate them to the sofa or couch, you can add to chairs as well, or stack a bunch on the fireplace for additional seating. These options range from $20 to $100, something for every budget.

Will you transition your home decor for Fall or wait until Christmas to doll it up?

Beach Ready – 3 Must Haves

July 20, 2016 by robincharmagne 12 Comments

beach-Vacation-poem-robincharmagne

Hello pretties,
Beach! Isn’t that what Summer is all about. Sand, sun, and blue water – thank you light reflection! But pretties, let’s keep it real simple with three must haves for some much needed R&R – big ol’ floppy hat, cute tote, and simple flip flops. Here are nine handpicked easy peasy pieces, take a peek…

Yes, you are now ready to sit back and enjoy some time off with this trio of goodies. No matter how your melanin is popping, block out some of those sun rays with a big hat and yes girl, everyone looks good in a big hat and stylish sunnies. A good size tote is perfect for carrying a good book and we love sand but not in our toes, so a simple pair of flip flops is just the ticket.

I am counting down to laying back, listening to some bouncing waves, while reading a page turner and sipping on a mojito. What are your favorite beach accessories!

Outfits Of The Day – 75 And Counting!

March 9, 2016 by robincharmagne 14 Comments

sequin-wall-robincharmagne

Hello pretties,
Outfits, outfits, and more outfits! 75 in fact. Celebrating all the tops, tees, jeans, shoes, skirts, dresses, jewelry, handbags, and even shorts featured in 75 fashion posts. I have never been shy when there is a camera around and cute clothes, always loved taking pictures. But fashion posts are a tad different since folks all over the blogosphere can see and critique your photos. That thought can be quite daunting but you can’t let the fear of Negative Nellies keep you from doing something you love and I did not. Let’s celebrate and wear sequins in the day time with our favorite tee, take a peek…

Chunky Heels For Spring

March 4, 2016 by robincharmagne 10 Comments

block-those-stilettos-robincharmagne

Happy Friday,
Chunky Heels are our friends. Spring is just a few days away and we will be rocking freshly manicured feet in strappy heels. Don’t get me wrong, I love a sexy stiletto but my feet, not so much. Stilettos are sexy and elongate the leg, but the effects of wearing a high heel can be brutal. The angle of a high heel can create bunions and hammertoes and puts extra stress on the back and knees, ouch! Chunky heels to the rescue. This Spring you can still rock a sexy sandal that loves your feet. Take a peek…

You can have comfort and style in a chunky heel!

Click To Tweet

Cute and comfy works every time. You can still get that height and sexy look with embellishments like straps, buckles and strings. Yes, string-up styles will still be popular for the next season. A chunky heel pairs perfectly with a denim dress, shorts, or culottes. A good choice for a day party, a night at a rooftop bar, if you’re in The A, checkout my fave, a casual lunch or a dressy dinner. We have to be kind to our feet and this heel is a fabulous option with loads of style.

Are you rocking chunky heels this spring?

12 Dorm Room Goodies

August 11, 2015 by robincharmagne

dorm-room-goodies-robincharmagne

Hello,
How’s everyone doing? Sending positive vibes to ya’! Have y’all been enjoying seeing all the kid’s first day of school pics? I always loved school and still have a love of learning, so it just makes me giddy! Not so many pics of the college kids going back or just starting their college careers. Maybe they are preoccupied with snagging stuff for their fancy smancy dorm rooms.

I remember my dorm room, it was not decked out at all, really kinda plain. I had a navy blue comforter set from Sears, a small fridge, desk lamp, bath stuff and a husband(back rest), that’s it. My folks were all about reading, writing, and rithmatic’ and not letting me have a fancy room. Guess what else I had? Wait for it….a typewriter. Yep, no computers. That makes me feel so ancient but I used that thing for a minute. Kids today have these dorm rooms decked out to the max. My niece’s dorm room was more like an apartment with all the trimmings. If you have a sweet kiddo headed to college, I’ve handpicked some goodies to make any student smile!

ThredUp – Sell Your Stuff

May 11, 2015 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

thredup-cover

Hello,
I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend and that the Mommies had a fab day and were treated like the Queens you are! I enjoyed the weekend immensely – comedy club on Saturday featuring John Witherspoon, who was absolutely hilarious! I laughed sooo much, I was hoarse. And the Mommie’s Day fun on Sunday. My Mama is a comedian too, I mean not professional, but she is funny as heck and kept us laughing! I got to her house early to dress her for the festivities. I thought I had a bunch of stuff, Mama does too. So it’s a good thing I’m getting rid of some of my stuff with thredUP.
