Happy Birthday To Me

July 27, 2020 by robincharmagne 4 Comments

Hi Pretties,

I know it has been too long since I have shared a blog post! What better day than my birthday to get back in the blogging business. Y’all this 2020 is unforgettable. If I don’t remember anything else in life, it will be this year and how it changed everyone. There is rarely an event or situation that happens that touches everyone, but EVERY continent I believe except Antartica has been touched by this pandemic! But, I am not dwelling on the pandemic. More than anything, I am thankful to live to see another birthday.

So what have I been doing during the pandemic…cooking, cleaning, and shopping…yeah I know y’all have been doing the same thing too!

What I Have Been Doing…

  1. The first thing I purchased was a new cookware set. If I was gonna be cooking up a storm, I needed some cute cookware. This is ceramic and so easy to clean, that was a big selling point for me.
  2. To make my cooking life easier, I ditched my crockpot and I jumped on the Air fryer bandwagon. I have never seen such pretty chicken wings and fries on the gram’. Of course, I bought the accessory kit too. It’s bout to be on and popping in my kitchen!
  3. And, because I just needed my 1000th pair of earrings, I got these cuties in a bold gold. I’m rocking gold accessories all summer! These are super lightweight and come in a bunch of sizes.
  4. I know I’m not going anywhere in particular, but when I do leave the house, I still want to rock stylish sunglasses. These were less than $20 bucks and yep they come in other colors too, including pink!
  5. Ever since I started blogging, I have wanted a ring light. And with so many more indoor photoshoots, it’s a must-have for content creators. I mean are you even a content creator if you don’t have a ring light? IJS…

If I can say anything about this birthday year, it has been the year of learning. I have learned how to tie a head wrap, the basics of tai chi, Zoom “dates”, how to cook two chicken dishes in the crockpot, the basics of SQL, and I am just getting started. Getting older and smarter, you can’t beat that!

How are you celebrating your birthday this year? What have you been doing during the pandemic?? Smooches pretties!

Sweet Weekend Fun

June 2, 2014 by robincharmagne 4 Comments

Friday

ziosk, chili's, flip-flops

Saturday

Team Elevate at Fun Fest

Sunday

Sweets

Hello Pretties!
A lovely weekend it was for sure! I hope y’all hit the streets or stayed home but enjoyed whatever you indulged in! I had a ball this weekend. Started out Friday, enjoying some shopping and dining with my bestie. We hit up Dress Barn and I snagged the cutest pair of flip flops. Flip flops are usually very casual, but the metallic accents on these really dress them up! Of course shopping makes you hungry, so we stopped by Chili’s. Have you dined at Chili’s lately? They have gone hi-tech with the Ziosk tabletop device. You can order food, drinks, read the newspaper, play games, and pay your check, right at your table! I’m a gadget girl, so I thought it was super fun. Me and the bestie shared this yummy dessert with the biggest scoop of ice cream I’ve ever seen – so good!

I got my workout on with the Color Fun Fest. Oh this was a blast with a sweet group of friends otherwise known as Team Elevate, cause we’re all trying to be the best women we can be. The Color Fun Fest is a 5K run/walk where the goal is to get as colorful as possible. There were color stations throughout the course where the participants get doused in a different color. By the end of the race, we were a real rainbow. We did the night wave which was even better! A portion of the proceeds from the Color Fun Fest benefited Free Arts for Abused Children, HopeKids, and Flight For Cystitis Fibrosis – quite worthy causes. The Color Fun Fest visits several cities so if it comes to your city, sign-up and join the fun!

And Sunday was brunch with my sweet co-workers. We work virtually so it was so nice to get together in person. We had great food at The Shed at Glenwood and even better conversation. And this sweet treat, a homemade Ding Dong yeah, I know I just did the walk the night before, but that thang was sooooo sweet and chocolatey! I saved half for a sweet Sunday bite! Ended the weekend with a live chat with a sweet friend via Facetime! Love this app from Apple!

I feel refreshed and ready to take on the week. How was your weekend?

The Slip-On

slip-ons

Hello,
It was a great weekend pretties, hope you all enjoyed it as well. I know I talk about weather here a lot, but the weather in The A is a story on its own. Over the weekend, I saw folks in boots and folks in shorts soooo, go figure. But you know what works in any kind of weather? Yep slip-ons.

I’m seeing these kute kicks everywhere, the sneaker that’s a shoe. Why do I love slip-ons? Three words cute, comfy, and casual. Today’s slip-on is way beyond the basic canvas fabric, with styles in leather, metallics and all kinds of prints – the choices are endless. The price point is very affordable with lots of options under $50 bucks. Slip-ons are the perfect complement to shorts, boyfriends, or a cute maxi. And let’s not forget they are unisex! Yep get a pair for you and your boo!

Are you rocking slip-ons? I would love them in a metallic!

Hi Pretties,
Happy Monday! The weekend here was so cold and rainy and I have a feeling that we could have a white Christmas!!! That would be very cool, or brrr cold! 15 days until Christmas lovelies and today’s gift guide is for the blogger in ya’ life! This year marks 15 months of blogger bliss and yep I still love blogging. But a blogger needs some awesome tools and I’ve included a few for your shopping pleasure! Splurge on this tablet that’s a pc that’s a tablet! My blog is dope, enough said! That blogging planner is nice, love the spiral binding so you can keep all things together. kate spade usb, too cute and a great backup for the backup! Fashion is my passion and this pillow is perfect. The Canon Rebel, a blogger’s dream camera. A blogger finds inspiration everywhere, don’t miss a thing with this handy notebook with a built in pencil!

Another good gift is a trip to a blogging conference. There are so many blogger conferences to choose from, hosted in major cities around the country. Blogger conferences present first and foremost, the chance to meet other bloggers and build meaningful relationships. Second, classes to learn the basics of blogging from selecting a theme to adding social media icons to your blog and some advanced stuff as well such as branding and affiliate marketing. And of course, a chance to meet industry leaders and brands. You can find the movers and shakers in the blogging community and the big brands all under one roof. Not to mention the photo opps, parties, and swag bags! I’m still trying to decide which one to attend next year!

Blogging, line dancing, yoga, fishing, are you gifting for someone that has a passion?

How To Shop Black Friday Sales

November 18, 2013 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

Black_ Friday_ 11292013
Hello Pretties,
The weekend was great, too much fun! If you haven’t seen The Best Man Holiday, go see it! I love feel good Christmas movies and this one did not disappoint! Attention robincharmagne shoppers, 12 days until Black Friday Sales so today I’m sharing my tips for a fun day of shopping!

1 – Of course fashion is first, last Black Friday I posted outfits for being cute and comfortable. You’ll be up early and out all day so consider comfortable shoes.
2 – Grab your BSB, best shopping bud! You can cover more ground with two people but choose wisely, you need an eagle eye to spy BOGO(buy one, get one) signs, early bird deals, and to hold your place in line if you jump out of line to snag an awesome deal or to use the lady’s room!
3 – Be safe. Park as close as possible to the door. You’ll get your exercise going store to store! Don’t flash your credit cards or cash, be discrete as you transact business.
4 – Checkout the layout of the mall or outlet before hand to map out your shopping route.
5 – OK, set a budget! Yeah, you need a budget to avoid overspending and heartache in January. And, yes, the budget applies to the credit cards too! Set an overall dollar amount to spend or a per person dollar amount. You’ll need cash or credit for the AFTER Christmas sales.
6 – Research, research, research. There are a ton of Black Friday sites, but my fave is GottaDeal.com/Black Friday. Their comparison tool rocks! You can also try comparison apps like PriceGrabber. Sometimes a deal isn’t a deal, especially at outlets. Check out the current price of items now so you can recognize a real deal.
7 – Email subscribe to your favorite retailers to receive notices for discounts and sign up for Twitter and Facebook as retailers post special offers for their loyal followers. Check your local paper too, there are bound to be some coupons, but read the fine print, most have some exclusions.
8 – Fully charge your phone or tablet or bring your portable charger. You can send pics to your BSB when you need a second opinion on a deal or a gift.
9 – Bring your favorite beverage and some snacks. The lines will be long, keep your energy up! Pick a new spot for Black Friday lunch, you deserve a great meal after all that shopping!
10 – Hit the sack early so you’ll be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for Black Friday shopping!

What are your tips for a fun day shopping Black Friday?

8 Things Every Happy Woman Should Have

October 21, 2013 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

Hello Pretty Ones,
It’s the start of another beautiful week. The weekend was a bit quiet but I did checkout The Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta a huge shopping venue in North Georgia, with all the big brands, Coach, Ann Taylor, Kate Spade, True Religion, Michael Kors, Saks Off Fifth and much more. But what caught my eye was C. Wonder – coming soon! Needless to say, I am eagerly anticipating holiday shopping. On to today’s post which was inspired by Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere who shared her thoughts on “8 Things Every Happy Woman Should Have” and I thought I would throw in my two cents.

1. A go-to drink.
I’m a southern gal so this beverage is always on the menu

Shopping Fun? Yes And No!

September 16, 2013 by robincharmagne 4 Comments

Hello pretties,
Another lovely weekend! A little nip in the air, bring on that fabulous Fall weather! Today I’m posting about my hobby – shopping, yes it’s a hobby. Last week, I had a blast at Girl’s Night Out at Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza, two premium shopping venues here in the A. The event was hosted by beautiful blogger Oh! Nikka. Shoppers were treated to an evening of pampering, fall fashion previews, beauty demos, tasty treats, giveaways-one lucky shopper won a $500 shopping spree, and of course awesome shopping discounts with retailers throughout the mall.
GNO2
Girl's Night Out-Shopping Fun

Girl’s Night Out-Shopping FunTarget and 3.1 Phillip Lim collabo on Friday. It wasn’t so much fun. Now don’t get me wrong pretties, I still love Target and Phillip Lim, but I was disappointed in the collection. No Plus sizes. I don’t get why a designer collabos with a mass market retailer like Target but then doesn’t offer sizes beyond XL. Many designers have plus size lines, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Eileen Fisher, Vince Camuto, Calvin Klein, Anne Klein, Donna Karan, I could go on. And mind you these are big, well-known brands. As a fashion consumer, I want to buy more than accessories. Yeah the handbags were cute, but so were the dresses, tops, sweaters, pants, and jackets. I wanted to snag some of that too. Not everybody is a size 6, true, or size 20 for that matter. But some folks are a size 18 on the way to a size 6 and we would like to look cute doing it! Needless to say my shopping cart was empty!

Have a Marvelous Monday lovelies!

Get Paid to Shop

March 14, 2013 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

Hi pretties,
Yesterday I posted my second OOTD(Outfit of the Day)here. I have a blast playing dress up putting these outfits together. But there’s a lot more shopping going on to get the right pieces for the OOTD blog posts. I’m sure you’ve seen those commercials with folks saying they get paid to shop, and with Ebates, that’s exactly true. I got my first check!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Ebates is rebate program where your favorite retailers gives you cold hard cash just for shopping online. To get your check, sign up for the program.
ebates5

Once on the site, you can select from a wide range of retailers from automotive to clothing to food and wine! I’m sure somewhere you already shop is on Ebates! Then you select your favorite retailer. I love Coach handbags and have been itching for a new one, so I clicked on the Coach store logo.
ebates4

And voila, a cash back coupon popped up and took me directly to the Coach website to make a purchase.
ebates3

Now go get your check! What rebate programs do you use?
