Dresses Over Jeans – OOTD #119

Hey Pretties,

Yessss, I am back with a new OOTD (Outfit of The Day) for my new pretties! With the coronavirus situation, we have to improvise and I took it back to the living room for some fashion fun! I missed playing dress up and super excited to share one of my favorite casual style trends – dresses over jeans! This styling is so fun and easy to put together – you just need a button front dress and a pair of jeans. It does not get any easier than grabbing two simple pieces to rock a casual style.

I saw this dress online and the geometric, tribal kinda print caught my eye. And would you believe it’s a rental from Gwynnie Bee? I love the print and the maxi length. You can find a similar dress here and jeans here. I could not find a good dupe for this sold-out tote bag, sorry ladies!

Easy, breezy style with nude sandals that pair perfectly with this print! I am ready for brunch or a day of shopping…when the outside opens!

And bold, gold accessories to top off this casual look! These gold hoops are big and sexy but super light! I am rocking gold accessories all summer!

I am now scouring my closet for button-front dresses to pair with jeans or over slim leg pants too! So many options with this casual style! Is this trend for you? Have you tried it?

Winding down this month already. Yep January is about to be in the books. I am just now planning for this quarter and thinking about being open to new things this year and smashing comfort zones. I know Gianne, my talented photographer is going to get me!! But, I am taking the OOTD back to where it started, this white wall in my living room and my non fancy camera. This sweatshirt really reminded me of how far I have come with my OOTDs. From the living room wall, to the back yard, to my first “real” photographer, to shooting with Gianne. What a ride! She think she sexy…she is!!!

I posted here about all the elements of photoshoot. It is a lot harder than it looks but so much fun. This sweatshirt was made for fashion bloggers and I just could not pass it up. Of course the glittery letters sealed the deal for me. You can wear this sweatshirt alone or layer with a crisp white shirt. I paired it with distressed boyfriend jeans, a funky necklace in silvertone, small leather backpack, and edgy stud boots.

My word of the year is increase so look for more fashion related posts. Gianne and I want to scout new and unique locations around The A for more fashion shoots. Seeing the progression from living room to professional photographer is encouraging, growth is good.

Floral Love – OOTD #113

Floral prints, oh how I love thee. This lovely floral beauty caught my eye and I snagged it so fast, lucky for me it was on sale. Bold but really pretty, the colorful embroidery on the black background makes this top pop. But alas, the style is off the shoulder and we are supposed to be in the Fall season and putting away the summery styles. But in the name of fashion, we still have a few more not so chilly days to rock a floral off the shoulder. The trick? Get it in a style with a longer sleeve.

I happily packed this top on a recent trip to the Pacific Northwest and it was perfect for the cooler temps. I paired with some of the most comfy jeans from Charlotte Russe. My only negative with these jeans is the light whiskering in the thigh area. For me, it makes my thighs looks larger and we don’t have time for that! And of course, I rocked my Gucci dupe slides, also from Charlotte Russe.

And, in cooler temps, you could also consider a heavier weight fabric such as velvet. Velvet is everywhere for the Fall! This is my all time favorite style, the shoulder area is super sexy.

Summer is starting to sizzle and so is the fashion. There is no shortage of trends to try this summer but for today’s OOTD, I compiled 5 of my favorites I rocked in the month of June!

Summer Trends

Kimonos
Kimonos are everywhere in fashion and are the easiest of the trends to wear. You can find them in all sorts of patterns and prints, but look for the most lightweight fabrics, after all it summer. Long and flowy, they work well over tops/bottoms or paired with a dress – bodycons and kimonos is my favorite pairing.

Ruffles

It is all in the details! And, the details make this top so easy and comfy, you know I love comfy and uncomplicated. The simple embroidery adds some zip and interest to this lightweight cotton fabric. You can go from day – running weekend errands to night – laughing at the comedy club in this off the shoulder style. Clothes that are versatile really help stretch your clothing budget. These sandals are a standout with the criss-cross strap detail. And, I picked some shopping options that in any combo top, bottom, and sandal are under $125. That is a budget I can work with any day. This entire outfit is a winner, effortless dressing for day or night.

Shop the look

Super feminine with the big ruffle and soft fabric. You could pair with a pretty pleated midi for a more dressed up look. These white jeans are a staple. I posted here about making peace with them and we are the best of friends now (probably need a 2nd pair). The accessories are a fun clutch and simple mules. I am definitely passionate about being comfortable in your clothes and finding pieces that work for you. I wear this uniform all the time because it works for me and my lifestyle. I tend to shy away from sleeveless tops because my arms are a bit challenged – well flabby. But my shoulders are sexy as…well you know. I am passionate about the off the shoulder style…LOL In fashion, it is cool to try trends, i.e. off the shoulder, ruffles, etc. But if you know those silhouettes don’t make you feel great, skip it and try something else. You make the clothes, they don’t make you!
