More Or Less…Ghost Chairs

August 26, 2014 by robincharmagne 12 Comments

More OR Less

Hey pretties,
Today’s More Or Less features my favorite chair – The Ghost Chair, very popular in home decor. The Ghost Chair design was created by Phillipe Starck, one of the first designers to use clear polycarbonate in furniture design.Kartell sells a huge variety of polycarbonate chairs in different styles, colors and price points. I think the Ghost Chair is the perfect accent piece that coordinates with any decor since it has no color, pattern, or texture. But, if you need some inspiration, Houzz to the rescue.

Eclectic Kids by Franklin Lakes Interior Designers & Decorators Sheree Goodman Design, Inc.- Allied ASID
Traditional Kitchen by Burlington Interior Designers & Decorators Regina Sturrock Design Inc.
Eclectic Family Room by Athens Photographers Corynne Pless

The styling in the last photo is my favorite. I’m so in love with the Ghost Chair and of course I would snag the Less version, you really can’t tell the difference. The Less version is a good way to add a high end designer piece to your home decor without breaking the bank.

What do you think about this classic furniture style? Would you buy a Ghost Chair?

More Or Less…Lamps

More or Less

Hello,
I hope everyone is doing great! We’ve talked about lighting here and we’re talking lighting again today. Lamps are so critical in providing good lighting in any room, not just for aesthetics but lamps are good for function as well. This floor lamp would be nice in a reading corner with a chaise or comfy chair. Or, you could place this lamp next to the sofa. These two lamps are so similar so yep I’d go for the Less!

Which would you choose?

More Or Less…Bar stools

More OR Less

Hi pretties,
Feeling a bit under the weather, but I wanted to share this week’s More or Less, bar stools. Each of these are sleek and stylish with the dark finishes and metallic accents. Bar stools are most commonly used in kitchens and basements for additional seating. Both of these are really nice but the quilted fabric wins me over, I’m going with the Less version.

Which version would you choose?

More Or Less…Bottle Chillers

More OR Less

Hi there,
Yesterday I posted about my uneventful, anti-climatic trip to Trader Joe’s. But one of the best buys was my $2.99 bottle of Shiraz.

shiraz wines

Shiraz

Are y’all familiar with Shiraz? It’s from Australia and is a popular red in the region. The flavor is bold fruity – blackcurrant, cherry, blackberry, plum, and raisin. Good paired with red meat dishes. And of course it has the antioxidant characteristics of red wines. If you’d like to sip a Shiraz and have a Trader Joe’s in your area, then try the $2.99 bottle – no big investment if you don’t like your bottle of Shiraz.

No matter what bottle you snag, you need a cute bottle chiller to keep your red at the right temp. Not cold but chill. This bottle chiller is nice for table side, just the right height. Both versions are nice but I favor the Less version with the round handles, just a better design than the molded handles on the More version.

Have you tried Shiraz or do you have a favorite wine? Which bottle chiller do you like?

More or Less…Fireplace Candelabras

More or Less

Hi,
I have a fireplace in my home, but I don’t use it so I really like the idea of a fireplace candelabra to add light and an accent. This week’s More or Less has me truly puzzled. I can’t even imagine why you would pay $500 bucks for virtually the same thing. But it’s a good example of why shopping around is essential. A very good app for price comparisons is PriceGrabber.

Price Grabber, shopping apps

PriceGrabber App

PriceGrabber, available for iPhone and Android, has thousands of prices for products and services (Clothing, Babies & Kids, Electronics, Computers, TV’s, Furniture, Fashion, Cameras and more) to help you find the right product at a good price. The retail options include the big box stores like Best Buy, Office Depot and Walmart, as well as local retailers. And, the app calculates taxes and shipping information, along with detailed product reviews. Another good feature is the email notifications with the best prices and product availability for that special something you’re looking to buy.

I’m sold on the less version! Have you used a price comparison app or website?

Note: I was not compensated for this post, I just like PriceGrabber!

More or Less…Geometric Pillow

More//Less

Hi,
If you’re looking for an easy and quick way to spice up your home decor, snag a few pillows. The More or Less choices today are in a bright geometric pattern. Pillows can add a pop of color to a decorating scheme.

Traditional Living Room by Little Rock Interior Designers & Decorators Tobi Fairley Interior Design
Transitional Living Room by San Francisco Interior Designers & Decorators Bolen Designs

I love the brightness of both of these and the geometric pattern is very on trend right now. Yellow pairs well with neutrals like black and grey too! The less version works for me and looks a little less formal, more abstract. Which one would you buy?

More Or Less…Crystal Chandeliers

June 24, 2014 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

More//Less

Hello,
Lighting is critical to really every room in the house so why not go fancy with a chandelier. The chandelier used to be reserved for grand entry ways or foyers, but now they come in all shapes and sizes to fit any decor. These chandelier models are adorned in crystals and covered with sheer fabric shade and could work in a bedroom or dressing room for a very glam look. Both chandeliers are very close in size and style but differ in price tag.

Which would you try? I’m leaning towards the less, it’s pattern is more simple.

More or Less…Industrial Coffee Tables

Shop More – Overstock OR Less – Wayfair

Hello,
Do you have a coffee table? I don’t use one in my den – always thought it would end up being a catch-all for all my junk. But I’d like to add a coffee table that is unique and different. The industrial look of these coffee tables is very cool. They share a similar finish and feel, but there is almost a $200 difference in price. These ideas from Houzz give a good idea of how to style this coffee table.

Industrial Coffee Tables Styled

Industrial Living Room by Mirabel General Contractors Les Collections Dubreuil
Contemporary Family Room by Columbus Home Builders M/I Homes

Both are fairly pricey, but it’s a unique look, so I’d lean toward the less version. The wire trim on the more version is a little too industrial for my taste. Which version do you prefer?

More Or Less – Slate Cheese Trays

June 10, 2014 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

cheese tray, slate cheese tray

Hello,
Now that the days are longer and we’re entertaining outside, it’s time to pull out the outdoor dining serve ware. A cheese tray is a good piece to have for outdoor dining so I’ve curated two good choices, one more and one less. I like slate because it has that rustic feel, great for outdoors. What’s really cute though is using chalk to mark the yummies you’re serving your guests. These are fairly similar but I think I would go with the less version because it has the rope handles making it easy to carry from kitchen to patio or deck.

How To Select Cheeses

Once you select your slate cheese tray, you’re ready to assemble your cheeses. This handy guide will help!

More Or Less – Beveled Mirrors

June 3, 2014 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Beveled mirrors, mirrors

Hello,
Last week I shared with you some seating options in two different price ranges. It was a challenge scouring the Internet for two comparable items but I love the thrill of the hunt. Soooo, today marks the start of a new series, More or Less. Each week, I’ll curate two home decor products – one more and one less. Let’s face it, sometimes we can pay more and splurge. But hey who doesn’t want to pay less and save a few bucks!

Beveled Mirrors

Mirrors add light to a room and make a small space look much larger. These mirrors are both 34 X 34 and weigh about 20 pounds. They are almost identical, the more mirror appears to have a silver tone, while the less mirror appears to have more of a gold finish but are described as antique gold.

This mirror works in multiple rooms. You could also double or triple the look by using more than one mirror! Would you pay more or less?
