Plaid Christmas – Home Decor

November 22, 2016 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

plaid-decor-on-robincharmagne
Hello pretties,
Last week’s plaid OOTD inspired today’s post. This beautiful criss-crossed horizontal and vertical fabric comes in a variety of colors but most popular for the holidays is the red and green pattern. You can easily incorporate plaid into your home decor. I have handpicked some holiday home decor pieces in plaid, take a peek…

So many options to choose from – traditional red/green, red/green/black or even pastel plaids. A Christmas tree adorned in plaid ornaments or ribbon is perfect. Another easy option is a candle packaged in plaid fabric, very subtle. But my favorite is a plaid tablescape with a table runner, plates, or napkins in this festive print. I am in love with this vignette from Houzz.

More Or Less…Ghost Chairs

August 26, 2014 by robincharmagne 12 Comments

More OR Less

Hey pretties,
Today’s More Or Less features my favorite chair – The Ghost Chair, very popular in home decor. The Ghost Chair design was created by Phillipe Starck, one of the first designers to use clear polycarbonate in furniture design.Kartell sells a huge variety of polycarbonate chairs in different styles, colors and price points. I think the Ghost Chair is the perfect accent piece that coordinates with any decor since it has no color, pattern, or texture. But, if you need some inspiration, Houzz to the rescue.

The styling in the last photo is my favorite. I’m so in love with the Ghost Chair and of course I would snag the Less version, you really can’t tell the difference. The Less version is a good way to add a high end designer piece to your home decor without breaking the bank.

What do you think about this classic furniture style? Would you buy a Ghost Chair?

More or Less…Industrial Coffee Tables

Shop More – Overstock OR Less – Wayfair

Hello,
Do you have a coffee table? I don’t use one in my den – always thought it would end up being a catch-all for all my junk. But I’d like to add a coffee table that is unique and different. The industrial look of these coffee tables is very cool. They share a similar finish and feel, but there is almost a $200 difference in price. These ideas from Houzz give a good idea of how to style this coffee table.

Contemporary Family Room by Columbus Home Builders M/I Homes

Both are fairly pricey, but it’s a unique look, so I’d lean toward the less version. The wire trim on the more version is a little too industrial for my taste. Which version do you prefer?

More Or Less – Beveled Mirrors

June 3, 2014 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Beveled mirrors, mirrors

Hello,
Last week I shared with you some seating options in two different price ranges. It was a challenge scouring the Internet for two comparable items but I love the thrill of the hunt. Soooo, today marks the start of a new series, More or Less. Each week, I’ll curate two home decor products – one more and one less. Let’s face it, sometimes we can pay more and splurge. But hey who doesn’t want to pay less and save a few bucks!

Beveled Mirrors

Mirrors add light to a room and make a small space look much larger. These mirrors are both 34 X 34 and weigh about 20 pounds. They are almost identical, the more mirror appears to have a silver tone, while the less mirror appears to have more of a gold finish but are described as antique gold.

This mirror works in multiple rooms. You could also double or triple the look by using more than one mirror! Would you pay more or less?

Hello,
You know this weather in The A is really on a roller coaster. Easter was amazing and now we’re looking at cooler temps and rain, go figure. But, it’s still a prime time to style your outdoor living space. I’ve mentioned Houzz as a very comprehensive resource for any type of home interior design/decorating inspiration. I’ve curated six lovely spaces for a medium size outdoor living space.

Elements of an Outdoor Living Space

There are no hard and fast rules for styling your space but some key elements are: outdoor seating which could be a combination of love seat, chairs, table, or even a chaise lounge;umbrella – freestanding or attached to your table; water feature – fountain or pond; outdoor lighting – lantern, torches or candles; for those cool nights a fire pit; and for outdoor feasts, I’m thinking anything on a kabob, a grill.

Which outdoor living space is your fave? #1 is my pick, so bright and colorful!

Christmas Decor Mini-Series Part 3

December 17, 2013 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

Hello Pretties,
Today is the last installment of the Christmas Decor Mini-Series. In the first installment, I shared some cool ways to use ornaments in your Christmas decor, inspired by the home interior experts at Houzz. In the second installment, we kept the Houzz love going with some beautiful Christmas trees from traditional to eclectic to accent any Christmas decor. Now you’ve got the tree up and decorated, let’s wrap up some Christmas goodies. And yes, Christmas gifts are part of your Christmas decor. I know what you’re thinking, rolls of paper, bows, and gift tags all over the place. You’d rather just toss everything in a gift bag. But, Christmas gift wrapping is easy-peasy when you know how. Here’s a great video from Dawn to Dusk Designs and checkout more from this design firm at http://youtube.com/DawnToDuskDesigns.

Hello Pretties,
I’m so happy to be done with Christmas decorating. Every year I say I’m going to do less, but I get carried away and end up doing the most. Christmas decor really puts me in the holiday spirit and, putting up the Christmas tree gives me a pretty place to put all the Christmas goodies. Last post we talked about ornaments and creative ways to use them in your Christmas decor. Today is part 2 of the mini-series focused on Christmas trees with some examples of unique and different trees from my favorite home interior site, Houzz. I tend to use traditional Christmas decor colors such as, green, red, silver, and gold. But there is really no right way to decorate a Christmas tree. Home decor retailers offer Christmas trees in all colors – orange, pink, green, white, and even black. Once you select the color of your tree, you can pick the theme. It can be as traditional as angels or snowmen or as whimsical as Hello Kitty or Star Wars. A theme makes it easier to select coordinating ornaments to complement your theme. I encourage you lovelies to experiment with your color theme including your tree and ornaments. From the Houzz collection, I especially love the first tree and how the ornaments curve around the tree, almost like built-in garland. And that mirror, love it!

Which tree is your favorite? What colors do you use in your Christmas decor?

Woohoo, I love decorating for the holidays, makes the house so colorful and bright. I’m bringing you another mini-series with inspiration from Houzz. Part 1 is all about ornaments. Fancy Fall Tabletops

October 22, 2013 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

Hey Pretties,
It’s Tabletop Tuesday, yeah I made that up. Last Tuesday we talked about decking out your mantel for the fall season so today I’m posting some ideas for your fall dining table. Of course Houzz is the source for decorating ideas in a variety of settings.

Contemporary Dining Room by Phoenix Interior Designers & Decorators FOCAL POINT STYLING

I’m partial to a table decorated to the max which means a complete table setting with all the trimmings – dinnerware, glassware, utensils and linens. Having a defined color palette makes it easy to coordinate all the components of the table settings. Some fall color suggestions – green, orange, brown, gold, and yellow. But you could step outside of the traditional fall palette and be a bit more adventurous like vignette number 6 in black, white and paprika. Also, white dinnerware works well for any color palette and you can re-use it for other holiday decorating.

I like the modern feel and dark colors of number 1 and the bold pop of color in number 6. Do you have a favorite vignette?
