Floor Decor – Rugs

February 25, 2014 by robincharmagne 3 Comments

rugs, brown rugs

one//two//three/four//five//six

Hello,
Yes it’s just Tuesday. I need this week to get a move on! I’m shopping for an area rug for my living room to coordinate with the color palette of chocolate brown/sage green with hints of black and silver. I used Olioboard to curate a few options for a brown patterned rug. Olioboard is very similar to Polyvore but more focused on home decor. Love the wood floors but they are bare and a rug would definitely ground the room, define the space and add to the overall decor. And, rugs are great protectors for your hardwood or tile floors. Be sure to add rug pads to keep the rug in place and to prevent accidents. Wouldn’t want friends and family to slip on your new rug. The sectional is a sold sage green and is fairly large so an 8 X 10 rug is the perfect size preferably in a pattern. I really like #4 but could go with #2 as well.

Do you use rugs in your home decor and which one of these would work best with the sage sectional?

Sweet Dreams

September 10, 2013 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Hello pretties,
I posted about a much-needed update for my bedroom. But if I’m going to shake things up, I need to consider the layout of the boudoir and how to make my nights peaceful. I found this interesting infographic about Feng Shui on Visual.ly.

How To Feng Shui Your Bedroom

Green is the major color in my bedroom so I should be having some sweet dreams as green is supposed to be calming. Yep, you need great components in the bedroom for sweet sleep – a beautiful bed, pretty linen, art, wall coverings, and accent pieces. But you also want a good night’s sleep and happiness, these tips should help. I would add one item to the Feng Shui principle, no television at all.

What’s a no-no in your bedroom? Have a terrific Tuesday lovelies!

JcPenney – Home Sweet Home

July 2, 2013 by robincharmagne 8 Comments

Hi Pretties,
It’s a short week so I hope everyone is making the most of these 3 work days! Last week, I blogged about sprucing up my bedroom, first stop, my local JcPenney store for a bit of inspiration. I was pleasantly surprised to see the home department revamped with some very cool brands, like Bodum, Jonathan Adler, Michael Graves, Martha Stewart, Pantone, and Ordning & Reda (pic heavy post).

These collections are colorful, vibrant, and modern, but a bit quirky too! The price points vary from about $5 bucks up to over $1000 bucks. Something for every budget! And there’s a great sale going on with an extra 10% off online purchases.

Oh, back to the bedding, the Happy Chic by Jonathan Adler collection was a perfect combination of modern and classic – my faves, here, here and here.

I’m really loving the green set! Will you checkout the new JcPenney Home?

HGTV Mag

June 17, 2013 by robincharmagne 4 Comments

Hello pretties,
Well, the week starts yet again. I hope you did something awesome and are ready for a great week. My weekend was quiet as planned. Father’s Day was very nice. Dad asked to go to one of the A’s most iconic restaurants The Varsity. Known for it’s greasy but good hotdogs, onion rings, and fried pie! I gave Dad some primo fishing gear so he was a happy camper or fisherman I should say!

On Saturday, my favorite home decorating mag arrived – HGTV Magazine. Did you know they have a magazine? It’s published 10 times a year at the low subscription rate of $15 and is also available in digital format for Android,iPad, iPod, PC, or MAC.

Here are three of my favorite sections of the mag!

HGTV mag is bright, colorful, very eye-catching and quite easy to read. It’s decorating in plain language with lots of great photos and features from some of HGTV’s best, Vern Yip, David Bromstad, Sabrina Soto, and Chip Wade to name a few. It’s a must read for easy home decor, home improvement, interior design, and DIY projects. A great resource! Check it out!

Do you have a fave home decor mag?
