Secure The Bag- Kirk Geiger London

March 22, 2021 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Hi Pretties,

I am over the moon excited to introduce a new handbag brand, well new to me brand. I ran across this bag on the Nordstrom website and was immediately smitten. Kurt Geiger London is based in the UK and started in 1963 and widely known first for their footwear. While on my staycation, I popped in Nordstrom and picked up this beauty!

The studded top handle immediately caught my eye. Top handle bags are classic and elegant.

Along with the stunning top handle is a substantial chunky chain with a leather shoulder strap that adds to the flexibility and edginess of this bag.

With the dimensions of 11”W x 7 ¼”H x 3 ½”D, this bag is more than roomy to handle phone, wallet, sunglasses and a few other essentials. The interior has a center divider with a slip pocket on both sides and a magnetic closure.

The signature quilted exterior adds to the beauty of this bag. The workmanship is impeccable.

Iconic eagle emblem, encrusted with crystals!

These pictures do not do this bag justice, it is the perfect size and in the most soft buttery leather. With its luxurious vibe and a price point below $300, this bag is a winner If you are looking for an elegant but edgy bag, look no more, this is the one! Have you heard of the Kurt Geiger London brand?

A Bag And A Bonus – Let’s Go

November 14, 2019 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Hi pretties,

Ahhh Paris, still on cloud nine from my Girl’s Trip last month and I can’t wait to share more deets about this trip. But first, let’s talk about the shopping. Paris is known for its fabulous fashion and accessories. You will find EVERY major fashion house in Paris from really affordable stores like H&M to top of the line stores such as Hermes. There is something to buy at literally every price point. However, my particular jam is handbags. I had a thought wayyy in the back of my mind to buy a bag. I wasn’t sure what style or brand but I kinda, sorta thought I would snag something cute.

Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann

Galeries Lafayette was our first stop, the big one with the fabulous rooftop views of Paris.

a view from the roof

Honestly, there were so many bags that I was a bit overwhelmed. If you are in Paris and love shopping, you must visit this location. The dining, shopping and views can’t be beat.

The Avenue des Champs-Élysées

I do not have to tell you about this famed street that is a shopper’s dream. There are super high end stores like Cartier and then there’s The Gap. The avenue again has something for every budget. Tons of places to eat – we chose Five Guys because the girls were starving and we wanted something super quick but delicious! But I was still on the hunt for a cute bag. While strolling the avenue, we stumbled upon Lancel. I had never heard of this French brand but the bags were calling me…Come in Robin, see what we have! I am glad I did!

this lady though…

Lancel

Lancel is a French brand that started in 1876 and is a premier French luxury brand. Each bag is handmade from luxurious leathers. There were so many beautiful styles but I am a sucker for a good crossbody. I chose the Clic de Lancel in black. Let’s look at this chic but edgy bag.

Lancel Paris
smooth glossy black leather
beautiful hardware/spacious interior/outside pocket/bag charm
silver hardware/bill compartment/card slots/compact
holds all the my current essentials
“With Clic, vintage understatement meets the rebellious elegance of today’s women.” -Lancel

VAT (Value Added Tax)

So here’s another good reason to buy luxury goods abroad. The Value Added Tax, or VAT, is a consumption tax assessed on the value added to goods and services – like a refund. So if you buy certain goods in Europe, you get a refund on your purchase based on the price, usually about 12%. Isn’t that THE best. Lancel did all the paperwork right in the store. When you leave, you present the form at the airport. You can choose a cash refund or have it applied to a credit card…easy peasy.

Currently obsessed with this chic crossbody. I think it falls right in the middle of being a casual weekend bag but equally good as a dressy bag. Loads of interior space to hold everything for the on the go girl! And, a matching wallet to pull off a polished look. I love that it is a French brand that is not so well known. After a 140 years, I think Lancel sure knows how to make a bag.

Have you purchased luxury goods abroad?

18 Coach Handbag Favorites

June 10, 2015 by robincharmagne 13 Comments

Hi Pretties,
How goes it? Good? Yeah I sure hope so! So I am in this “No-Buy” for June but just because I’m not buying a new handbag doesn’t mean y’all can’t. I have posted this brand a bunch on the blog, it is one of my favorite handbag brands – Coach. I hand-picked over 10 bags that are super cute from totes to backpacks, there is a cute bag for you.

Coach has been making beautiful bags since the early 40’s and expanded to other categories, including shoes, jewelry, fragrance, gifts and apparel. That’s a long history of quality bags that are known for lasting a lifetime. Hardware on a bag really makes a big statement and Coach is known for bold hardware such as turn-locks, grommets, tassels, hang-tags and studs. Who wants a boring bag? And if you like pattern or print details, I included a few of those options as well. The price points vary, some low, some a bit higher. My favorite? I don’t have a white bag, so I would love to add one to my collection or one of the printed totes, something a bit funky.

I have some bags I’ve had for 20 years and they still look great! What’s your fave? If you have a Coach bag or bags, how long have you had them?

OOTD #40 – London Edition

August 27, 2014 by robincharmagne 12 Comments

London, t-shirt. London t-shirt

Jacket(Dress Barn) – similar//Jeans(old) similar

$25 off $75, $50 off $150, $75 off $225 – only at Lane Bryant! Use code AUGUSTGIFTLB at checkout. Valid through 8/27.

Hello,
We’re half way to a 3 day weekend! Popping in today for a quick OOTD inspired by London. Of course you have to snag a t-shirt when you travel. I flipped my photo image to get my “good side” so I included a close up of my tee so you could see the detail on the t-shirt that depicts London’s major attractions. I got this t-shirt at Camden Market, a totally cool, eclectic, goth, vintage, avant-garde, yeah all these adjectives, market in London. If you’ve visited The A, imagine Little Five Points on major steroids! I got a kick out of all the alternative London fashion options at this market and it was huge. Blocks and blocks of market stalls, stores and restaurants.

The bag is a cute backpack I got at TK Maxx, the UK version of TJ Maxx. It’s made by Partridge a European brand that specializes in fine leather. The bags come with a two-year warranty and a key fob and change purse. It was 59 pounds which is about $100 – not too bad. I don’t own a backpack style handbag so I am loving this baby. The London store has the same vibe as my neighborhood store and full of beautiful merchandise. The layout was a little different with the accessories upstairs and clothing on the second lower level. I did not do a ton of shopping in London but I did get a few pieces like these two, that I will cherish!

Is shopping on your travel agenda?

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Quilted Handbags

August 22, 2014 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Loving

Hey pretties,
Happy Friday! What’s up for the weekend folks? I’m taking it easy, still pooped from the trip. Are you feeling like Fall is in the air? I love quilted handbags for the Fall season. The quilted fabric adds texture and interest. Quilting is a tricky process, especially on leather. Once that needle goes in the fabric, the hole is made so the process requires some skill. Of course Chanel makes THE iconic quilted handbag. A quilted handbag is easy to dress up or down, and comes in a variety of styles – shoulder bags, satchels, totes, or even backpacks. This is a handbag trend that is timeless and classic.

Do you own a quilted handbag? Have a lovely weekend!

The Blooming Bags

The Art

Hello,
After the snow and ice from the past two weeks, I went gaga over these bags. It’s Burberry in bloom screaming springtime. These bags are adorned with flowers beautifully hand-painted on leather. Yesss! I paired each bag with a pretty piece of art because fashion and art go hand in hand. Here’s the frosting on the cupcake – Burberry will personalize this bag not only with your initials but a Burberry nameplate with your name.
nameplate
Awesome sauce!!! Now luxury like this ain’t cheap at a $3000+ price point and a couple of bags at, wait for it… $37,000+. Yeah that’s a boatload of cash. If I win the Powerball tonight, I’ll definitely own a hand-painted Burberry bag in bloom with my own initials and nameplate!

What do you think about this collection?

Hello,
The Bucket Bag is making a comeback. This classic silhouette is super roomy and works well for more casual outfits. It could definitely work for a night outfit in a smaller size. No need to worry about security since most bucket bags have a drawstring closure and some bags have a magnetic closure for more added security. Here’s another cute bucket bag from Coach.

Friday Faves – 22 – 3.1 Phillip Lim/Target Edition

September 13, 2013 by robincharmagne 12 Comments

Hello Pretty Ones,

lim and target

target and lim bags

Source: Lucky Magazine Instagram

It’s been a challenging week lovelies and I am ready for a weekend of a little bit of this and a little bit of that. What are you doing? One thing I’ll definitely be all over is the 3.1 Phillip Lim and Target collabo, today’s Friday Faves, which debuts on Sunday! Target loves partnering with designers to bring us high-end fashion and accessories at reasonable prices. My favorites in this collection are the handbags, in on trend shapes and colors. My advice is to to be early Saturday night, checkout the Lookbook at Target.com and have in mind what pieces you’d like to snag then head straight to the web. During the last collabo, the pieces didn’t load on the site until like 3am so be patient. Buy what you like online then also head to the store to shop for any piece that may sell out in your color or style of choice. Most important have fun!

And guess what? Next week is the blog anniversary of robincharmagne and I have some surprises just for YOU.

Have a beautiful weekend pretties!
