Flashback Friday – Faves On Friday

July 24, 2015 by robincharmagne 8 Comments

robincharmagne-flashback-birthday-brunch-2014

Sometimes you’ll laugh, sometimes you’ll cry
Life never tells us, the when’s or why’s
When you’ve got friends, to wish you well
You’ll find your point when, you will exhale (yeah, yeah, say)
Whitney Houston – Exhale

HAPPY HAPPY FRIDAY,
Hey there pretties, so happy today. It’s LEO season baby and you know what that means – vacation!!! Short post today, flashback to my 50th birthday celebration- my bday is Monday – woot woot. These beautiful ladies made my day so fab, we laughed and cried and laughed some more. The love was overwhelming and they loved each other even though some had met for the first time that day! My life is sweeter because of these ladies. Life can get crazy but with friends, we can get through the hard times and cherish the good times. When your way gets dicey, flashback to good times with your girls!

I will post just a bit but for the most part, I will be somewhat out of pocket next week. Remember I posted about really disconnecting when vacationing and I am seriously taking this advice to heart, but when I get back I will have loads of pics.

Make it the best weekend ever! Love y’all lots!

Faves On Friday

faves-on-friday-robincharmagne

Happy Friday,
This week wasn’t terribly busy at work but family stuff took up most of my time this week. But for some reason I’m feeling super tired, so some R&R is on the agenda with just a couple of fun things sprinkled here and there. Today’s Faves On Friday are a few good things from around the web, including my favorite salad!

1 – If you like to read, here’s a fun way to find your next book
2 – The anchor symbol is everywhere, loving this, so cool for a cookout and this, give this to your anchor
3 – Are you getting ready to take a break and hit the road or grabbing a jet plane? Then you need to read 6 ways to really disconnect on vacation. Take the obligatory we’re leaving or we’ve arrived selfies, we love those
4 – I’m not a huge fan of salads, I mean I eat them but not a fave, except this one. If it’s on the menu, I order it – should learn how to make it
5 – Crafters and Planners are going crazy for the Raskog cart from IKEA, price isn’t bad either

Who is reading something juicy, would love a good beach read?? And, don’t forget to enter to win a lovely Travel Kit from Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus!

Have a fab weekend!

Patriotic Hues – Faves On Friday

July 3, 2015 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

july-fourth-patriotic
Hey there,
It is pre-July 4th and I’m off today, but I thought I’d pop in and share some patriotic goodies to celebrate Independence Day. July 4th celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence penned by Thomas Jefferson, on July 4, 1776, when the United States separated from Great Britain. Home Decor is a neat way to honor this holiday with things you would have in the home any way and still use all year round. It is time to showcase your patriotic spirit.

I get a kick out of using the holidays to decorate around a specific theme, just gives the home a nice upbeat feel. Retailers make it very easy by carrying lots of items just for the July 4th holiday. And, don’t forget, after the holiday is a good time to stock up on sale items for next year’s holiday decorating. Many retailers will have holiday items for up to 70% off, yep! This is a huge holiday for our nation and I hope some of these patriotic goodies will find their way into your home decor.

Do you have a fave? I’m loving the bed rest and the USA marque letters!

Have a safe and happy holiday!

Summer TV – Faves On Friday

June 26, 2015 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Happy Friday,
I hope your week was fab and you stayed cool! It has been a scorcher this week so I am looking forward to a cooler weekend. Dontcha’ love summer! I do because along with summer temps is summer tv! With most of our favorite tv shows e.g. Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, The Good Wife, and The Walking Dead filming for the fall it’s fun, to find new tv shows to watch and some old favorites. Today’s Faves on Friday, are my top tv picks for summer. Take a peek.

Suits – USA Network Wednesday @ 9

I loved this show from the jump! Legal shows always peek my interest and this one is so sleek and sexy. Set in New York, it centers on a law firm with a woman, Jessica Pearson(played by Gina Torres) at the helm, along with Harvey Specter (played by Gabriel Macht). The female characters are not just assistants to the men, they call the shots and play pivotal roles in every episode. On top of that, so dang stylish, those suits Jessica rocks and the dresses that Donna Paulsen (played by Sarah Rafferty) rocks are not your standard office wear, no boring blue suits! Now the men ain’t shabby either, Harvey Specter reminds me of Cary Grant, handsome, smart and dapper, but then can recite lines from all his favorite movies. So Cool! And let’s not forget Mike Ross (played by Patrick J. Adams) who isn’t actually a lawyer but with his photographic memory, he plays one at the firm. Suits fast paced with interesting cases and unique office dynamics.

Complications – USA Network Thursday @ 9

This is kind of a medical show and kind of a crime show. The main character Dr. John Ellison (played by Jason O’Mara) saves the life of a boy involved in a drive by shooting, now the boy just happens to be the son of a drug kingpin, uh huh. The story follows how the Dr. has to keep this boy safe without being killed by gang members. Meanwhile, dealing with the death of his own daughter. I’m two episodes in and I’m hooked.

Mr. Robot – USA Network Wednesday @ 10

Now this show intrigued me because it centers around technology and how the main character Elliot Alderson (played by Rami Malek) is a hacker who hacks for good, if that makes sense. But then he’s solicited by a mysterious group to hack all the big companies that threaten our way of life – like a modern-day Robin Hood. It’s interesting. Elliot is kinda weird, but pulls you in and you know I’m rooting for the good guys to win.

Fear the Walking Dead – AMC Premiere TBD

This show has not aired yet, but I will be watching. It is the prequel for The Walking Dead, what happened before Rick and crew. This show features new characters and is set in Los Angeles, should be awesome and answer some questions like how did the virus start???

Big Brother 17 – CBS Sunday/Wednesday @ 8 and Thursday @ 9

17? Yep I have watched for 17 seasons and I can not let the summer go by without watching the shenanigans on this show. There’s always twists all season and the house-guests live in a house that is always so sick with extreme nautical decor, transparent floors, and cameras in every room, including the bathroom.

Loads of fun! You can see last summer’s picks here, Extant is back, woohoo. Now pull out your favorite summer lounge wear and grab this popcorn set for some great tv nights!

Are you watching these shows? Have a cool weekend!

Sunscreen Saves A PSA – Faves On Friday

June 19, 2015 by robincharmagne 7 Comments

sunscreen-robincharmagne

Happy Friday Pretties,
Well, I have so much on my mind today, but I’ll save it for another post. A few things to celebrate this weekend Father’s Day and the first day of Summer. I’m happy to see the summer months but we’ll be outside a whole lot more so we need to take extra care in protecting our selves from skin cancer. Yep folks, it is serious and one way to protect your skin is using sunscreen. I handpicked a select group of products to meet almost every need for adults and the kiddos. Take a peek!

Sunscreen – the basics

Sunscreen is designed to provide a barrier between our skin and the sun’s rays. Now, there are two kinds of ultraviolet rays, UVA – which causes aging and UVB – which burns the skin. Always select a product that is broad spectrum which means it accounts for both types of rays. The second component is SPF – sun protection factor. The SPF should be 30 or higher. And the last component is application, slather on at l ounce, enough to fill a shot glass.

This best protection of course is staying in the shade and wearing clothes that cover your skin. But if you are having fun in the sun, wear some sunscreen. And yes, that includes EVERYONE!

Do you wear sunscreen? Have a wonderful Father’s Day!

Weddings – Faves On Friday

June 12, 2015 by robincharmagne 4 Comments

http://hayakana-weddingdress.blogspot.com.au/2011/06/celebrity-wedding-rings-celebrity.html
Hello there,
It’s Friday, yep love Friday. What are y’all doing this weekend? My plans are still a bit tentative – a bit under the weather, but I’m sure it will be fun! Last week I posted some pretty print dresses for the wedding season. Today’s Faves on Friday are all about weddings. Enjoy!

1 – A social experiment is how the show is described, but I don’t know if I could be Married At First Sight! Have you all seen this show? A team of experts pair couples who agree to get married, honeymoon, and live together for 6 weeks to decide if they want to stay married or get a divorce? It’s an interesting show
2 – You could participate in a social experiment and take your chances, but before you “I do” ask these 20 questions
3 – Even if the bride or groom don’t cook, this is the best wedding gift ever (can’t believe I want one of these – I don’t boil water)
4 – My all-time favorite love story – it goes to show, what is meant to be will be – An Affair to Remember. This movie makes me believe in love, an oldie but a goodie for sure
5 – If I ever wed again, this will be my bouquet – absolutely gorgeous and a super easy DIY

Weddings are a billion dollar industry, that’s “b” billion – with the average wedding, according to the experts, at almost $30,000. That’s a whole lot of dresses, cakes, flowers, invitations and grilled chicken. Now I’m not against big weddings at all – the bride should have her dream day, but I would say have a smart wedding. There are so many things a bride can DIY that will not only save money, but add a personal touch to the wedding festivities. Y’all know I love a good DIY and no surprise, I DIY’ed my program, floral arrangements and napkins and a few other things for my wedding. This is one of my favorite seasons, best wishes to all the lovely couples tying the knot.

Have you been to any great weddings? Do tell! Have a fab weekend pretties.

Summer – Faves On Friday

June 5, 2015 by robincharmagne 4 Comments

gold-sunglasses
Hi Pretties,
I was wishing for Friday on Monday (yeah I know – wishing my life away), but I am so happy it is Friday. I don’t have a dang thang planned but I am pleased as punch. The week wasn’t bad though so let me not even sound like I’m complaining. Today’s Faves on Friday is focused on summer stuff with the first day of summer coming in just 17 days. I can’t say I’m bikini ready…LOL but it’s coming anyway so enjoy some goodies…

1 – This stuff right here is ridiculous, yeah I said it. I don’t know who made it, but they should be ashamed for unleashing this stuff on the world. Do I love it? YESSSSS
2 – Speaking of food, who doesn’t like a shish kabob, in so many different combinations, fun summer food
3 – Sun protection is important in the warmer months and this fedora does the trick and is $6 bucks
4 – New grilling season means new gear, this barbecue set has everything you need to grill up some goodness
5 – What is summer without a cute flip-flop, perfect for vacation

Now living in the South, I am not looking forward to 90 degree days but I am looking forward to vacation and my birthday, all coming soon. You know I will be blogging and instagramming all the fun.

What are you looking forward to this summer? Enjoy your weekend!

Tech Travel – Faves On Friday

May 29, 2015 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Tech-travel-apps
Happy Friday!
A four-day work week is so awesome and this one is now over, let the weekend begin. Sooo, I had vlog for y’all but I could not get the lighting right – it rained all day it was just dark and gloomy, so I’ll save that until Monday. But now with Memorial Day in the rear view mirror, travel season is on and popping. To get you ready to travel, I have hand-picked some cool tech and apps that will make your travel season easy breezy.

1 – Losing your luggage or missing luggage is the worst travel nightmare. But don’t fret, Trakdot Luggage Tracker, saves the day. Just pop it in your luggage and you can find your luggage just by using the app on your phone ($49.99, for iOS and Android)
2- Are you traveling internationally, then WhatsApp is for you. You can send unlimited pictures, text messages, audio and video messages back home without any international charges using a WiFi connection (FREE for 1 yr, then .99 afterwards, for iOS and Android)
3 – If you rent a car, you’re gonna need to park it somewhere, SpotHero can find you the ideal spot. Locate and reserve a parking spot in less than a minute. Now it isn’t available in all cities, but you’ll find it in some major U.S. cities, like San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Chicago, with more cities being added (FREE, for iOS and Android)
4 – Raincoat or fur boots, you’ll know what to pack using The Weather Channel app (FREE, for iOS and Android)
5 – I love airports, so many sights and sounds. But, they can be confusing, use GateGuru to help navigate the airport from dining options to restrooms(FREE, for iOS and Android)

Technology has seriously changed the face of travel with the advent of the Internet and smart phones. Most of these goodies are FREE and very easy to use. My favorite is WhatsApp, saved me a ton of money on my b-day vacay to London. You can even setup groups and chat with the whole fam at one time. Isn’t that cool?

What travel apps do you swear by? Have a fab weekend!

Holiday Edition – Faves On Friday

May 22, 2015 by robincharmagne 14 Comments

3-day-holiday-faves-on-friday
Hello Pretties,
I am so embarrassed to say that I did not know this was a 3-day holiday weekend. How did I miss that? I don’t plan on doing too much either, just spending time with the family and some friends. Maybe catch a movie, haven’t seen the Avengers movie yet or maybe the new Mad Maxx(why makeover a perfect movie??). These faves are some interesting things I’ve discovered this week and of course I share with my lovelies!

1 – The one meal that I eat every day is breakfast – try one of these 30 yummy breakfast ideas
2 – Memorial Day signals the start of the summer entertaining season and lots of cookouts, picnics, and pool parties, here’s everything you need for a party in a box
3 – One day I will love working out – NOT, but one thing I do know is that you don’t need a gym or a ton a fancy equipment to work out.
4 – Don’t shy away from wearing white jeans, these are so sexy with distressed details
5 – Travel season is here and this is THE BEST LUGGAGE EVER

Enjoy the holiday weekend and if y’all are having BBQ, where’s the best spot in your town? In The A, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q!
