I know what you’re thinking, jeans on Easter? Well, no I’m guest posting over at Glow Kouture Style and have put together a cute Easter Frock, check it out! But after Easter, you need an easy ensemble to throw on for a relaxing Sunday afternoon with the family or friends. Boyfriend jeans are a good foundation for a casual ensemble. Of course, I am in love with peplum which pairs perfectly with the jeans. Easy accessories – stud earrings, basic bangle, and a crossbody, and you’re ready to hit the park or a movie after Easter dinner.

A special Sunday post. This post was prompted by a shopping trip I took to Miami last year to Shecky’s Girls Night Out. The jewelry trend that stood out was the cross as jewelry. As a Christian, I’m conflicted about this trend and using it in my accessory choices. The cross was a method of execution, a painful slow death, most notably used on Jesus Christ. You can find cross shaped jewelry in bracelets, earrings, and necklaces.

Easter brings back memories of our Easter shopping ritual, going from store to store to find just the right dress, lace socks, patent leather shoes and coordinating ribbon(Mama hated hair bows). I am crushing on Chanel bags – I see one in my future for a special birthday!

One of the hottest trends for Spring 2013 is Stripes. Yeah, I’m thinking the same thing, “Stripes can be tricky”. I’ve always heard that stripes really aren’t that flattering especially in a horizontal pattern. But good news, there are ways to wear stripes that are very fashionable. My picks via Bergdorf Goodman.
These stripes have simple lines which make them easy to wear or you could just do a striped accessory such as a shoe or a handbag. Do you dare try stripes, up, down, sideways,or diagonal?
And, let’s not forget today is the first day of Lent leading up to Easter Sunday. Many believers pledge to give up something specific, like sodas, television, or profanity. Me? I’m giving up sweets, wish me luck, y’all know I love a good cookie! What are you giving up for Lent?
