Hello Pretties,
Today’s post is a very special OOTD. I’m wearing my new favorite tee-shirt!
BLM you say? That’s Bloggers Like Me, a wonderful group dedicated to nurturing and developing great bloggers. On Saturday, it was my honor to attend the BLM Experience Atlanta. I was a little hesitant about going to the event (I’m a bit shy) but the cost was amazing, less than $50 bucks and in the A, so yes I had to attend. Our hostess was Kimberly Wright of Keystrokes by Kimberly. Right out of the gate, she challenged us to take two real relationships from the event and grow them. After all, that was the theme for all four events being held simultaneously in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, DC. Our focus for the day was Branding. Kimberly’s style was relaxed and informal, making it really easy to ask questions. We were introduced to various ways to build our brand from registering our blog hashtag to registering an EIN to preparing an elevator pitch! Myself and the other 10 lovely bloggers soaked up the knowledge, feverishly taking notes throughout the day. All this along with a great brunch provided by Gordon Biersch Brewing Company/Midtown. Take a peek!
If that wasn’t enough, we had a guest speaker, Yalanda P. Lattimore, creator of DryerBuzz.com, an online resource for news and information. Like Kimberly, Yalanda was equally candid and open in her presentation. She reminded us that we are storytellers and that with blogging “The more you want to do it for free, the more you’ll want to do it.”
And I can’t leave out the awesome bloggers I had the pleasure of meeting. I enjoyed the fellowship with goal oriented, talented, creative, and driven women. What a group!
This entire experience was quite inspiring. I look forward to refreshing and renewing my blog(1yr. anniversary this month) and growing some new friendships.
