Fall Finale

October 29, 2013 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

Hello Pretty Ones,
Have y’all noticed the department stores have Christmas decoration out already? I’m trying hard not to buy anything, especially since I haven’t seen any sales or good deals but it’s getting harder…LOL. Especially the unique Santa figures I’ve seen lately in rich velvet and fur, I really want to buy one. It’s nice to have a new Santa for the collection each season. Sooo I’m focusing on finishing fall decor so I can start working on Christmas!

I love updating for holidays, it really makes the house feel very warm and inviting and signals the start of the holiday season. Happy to have the fall decorating done! The mantle is still naked because I couldn’t figure out how to decorate around the dang television, really thinking about maybe it’s time for a re-do on the living room layout. I hope you are sprinkling some fall love around your home, next up Christmas decorating, woohoo!

I know some folks go all out for holidays like July 4th and Halloween. What’s your favorite decorating holiday?

Fall Fever Decked Out Mantels

October 15, 2013 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

Hello Pretties,
In my last post I talked about having fall fever which means it’s time to jazz up the home decor. First up, the living room mantel. The mantel is often the focal point of a living room and with this project, I have to consider decorating around the fireplace and the television. My go to site for inspiration is Houzz because of the literally thousands of options to tackle any decorating or remodeling project. Take a peek!

One element I will definitely include is pumpkins. With their perfect surface and in every imaginable size, the decorating options are endless – from spray painting to washi tape to stenciling, and stamping.

Those mantels look amazing, especially the first image that uses the iron artwork as part of the decoration. Still not sure what to do about the tv…LOL!

Don’t Judge the Cover

August 20, 2013 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

Hello pretties,
I’m a bit late posting today, uggg! My trip to the mailbox yesterday was more interesting than expected. Amidst the junk mail was a new catalog, Through the Country Door. I was like, “What I ain’t got a country bone in my body(except my love of Westerns if that counts)…LOL.” But I must say, don’t judge a catalog by its cover! I found some unique and affordable home decor, check it out!

P.S. Yep the photos are snapped right from the catalog pages; they aren’t as crisp as I’d like, but please enjoy!

Good stuff huh. My favorites the slipcovers and hanging wine bottle sconce. Visit the online site to see many more pretty things! Are you a big catalog shopper?

Affordable Art on Living Social

March 25, 2013 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

Hello pretties,
It’s Monday! Can you believe March is almost over? On Saturday I posted about the blogathon, where bloggers had 24 hours to complete tasks to spark creativity on our blogs. Awesome way to learn and improve! Always a student, good stuff!

With the rainy weather in “The A” this weekend, I stayed in and started another decorating project. I have long admired subway art which you can see on my Pinterest board here. I was doing the happy dance when Living Social had a great special from ImageKind where a $299 city canvas was $99, that’s a steal. I love “The A” and thought this subway art would be a great addition to a space in my living room.

You can customize these with anything, famous street names, popular attractions, or your favorite neighborhoods. The space needs some more work but for now I’m very happy with my homage to my hometown.

What do you think about subway art?

The Good Wife and Horchow!

January 7, 2013 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

Hello Pretties,

The Good Wife on CBS is by far one of the most stylish tv shows. The wardrobe(look for a post real soon) and the set are modern and realistic for the show’s premise.

The Good Wife teamed up with Horchow to bring their beautiful set decor to you. The collection includes decorative accessories, furniture and lighting, with price points from $100 to $1000. I really love this collection and it is the first time consumers can purchase the same furniture and accessories featured on a major television show. Here are my favs:

Clockwise from the top:
Bayswater-Floor Lamp – $1110
Riverine-Lamp – $425
Vesali-Horse-Figure – $195
Trefoil-Knot-Sculpture – $520
Falconi-Rectangular-Tray – $275
Luka-Tea-Light-Holders-Tray – $375
INTERLUDE-Chinese-Zodiac-Figures – $265

Be sure to view the entire collection at Horchow.

What tv show inspires your home decorating?
