Birch Box – November

Hello Pretty ones,
Another cold day in The A, brrrr! It’s Birchbox time and I can’t believe my subscription is almost over with this, my 11th box. With the advent of the holiday season, this month’s theme is “More Good” as Birchbox teams up with No Kid Hungry donating a portion of sales to this worthy organization.

I have two faves from this box. First, mascara in a tube, yes. Unique packaging but the magic is in the sickle-shaped wand that creates beautiful thick lashes and is water-resistant lasting up to 12 hours. And an added feature is the Eyeko Shield that reduces smudging. My second favorite is the Pop Corn Pop (puffed whole grains/toasted corn chips) and it pops in your mouth, for real! At 60 calories a real treat.

The Birchbox Holiday Gift Guide is chocked full of gift ideas for everyone on your list from the foodie to the techie! And the section on stocking stuffers (my favorite) has some awesome gifts for the dudes and divas in your life!

Pretties, what can I say, this box was “lite” as was last months. I’m hoping they are saving the best for last with the December box! I hope the December box has “must haves” from 2013?

Brad, Brunch, and Birch Box

Hi pretties,
Happy Monday! The weekend was pretty good. I saw World War Z at my favorite movie spot! It was much better than expected, not so much about zombies as much as how to solve a mystery. Think I am Legend with people. Gotta love Brad Pitt, he’s getting better with age. And Sunday Brunch at a cool spot. I had the French Toast with a side of apple wood bacon, but my brunch bud had the eggs on an English muffin with blue crab and shrimp cake and sauteed spinach. Yeah it looked delish.

And, of course a lovely treat in the mail – Birch Box goodies! The theme for this month’s box is Power Play and the importance of taking control of your beauty routine. The folks at Birch Box collaborated with two actresses from one of my favorite shows, Suits. This summer, I have been patiently waiting for this highly styled, smart, and well written law firm drama to return to cable television. Two of the key characters on the show are, wise cracking “Donna” played by Sarah Rafferty and over-achiever “Rachel” played by Meghan Merkle. These ladies offer up their favorite pick from this month’s collection. Here are this month’s goodies!
