Stars and Stripes is a popular motif in fashion especially during the summer months. It was cool to see some cute goodies in stars and stripes for the June Mono box from I Love Jewelry. I liked this box, much improved over last month’s, take a peek…
The Goods
First of all, this box is all about patriotism with this motif featured in the bag and scarf, but not way over the top. The scarf is really big and lightweight, more like a wrap. But for me anything with the flag on it is tricky. I respect our flag and I am not sure I should wear it as a fashion piece. The bag is in a rich navy blue and made of that popular sturdy, reusable material.
The monogram piece this month is a cute white razorback tee with my initials in a rich navy blue. Love it and it is perfect loungewear, a little thin for workout gear. The jewelry piece is a faux tortoise anchor necklace with a substantial gold chain. Definitely a quality piece; however, it really didn’t match the stars and stripes motif or the color theme – rich dark blue, but I do like it and can see adding it to my accessory wardrobe.

I always enjoy seeing what people receive in their different monthly subscription boxes. The monogrammed one you subscribe to is really unique. One of the girls in my office also subscribes to a monogrammed service, but I am not sure if it is this same company. Anyway, I do like the cute pieces you received this month, especially the monogrammed tank. I can see the tortoiseshell necklace being a versatile piece year round.
Oh… I forgot to comment about the flag thing. I am with you about being iffy with the scarf. I don’t mind wearing a flag on a tee, like the Old Navy tees, but I would feel odd about wearing it as a scarf. I don’t know, it feels too much like actually Wearing the flag to me.

I love that anchor gold chain and the scarf too! Plus there is always a good way to use a canvas bag. This was a good box 🙂
