Print Maxi Dress – OOTD #83

Hello,
Prints vs. solids? We are talking about adding interest to your Spring/Summer looks with prints. This dress is actually a throw back from two years ago, this is my 50th birthday frock. Black was my first choice but black can be boring for a milestone occasion so I opted for this print maxi in my favorite silhouette, off the shoulder, take a peek.

Prints can be tricky to rock, I mean who wants to look like drapes or a bedspread? But you can rock prints, here are a few tips:

How To Rock Prints

1. Prints in a lighter color are an easy way to ease into this trend
2. A geometric print makes the body look more lean by sending the eye in one direction
3. Details like a cape or an overlay with a print cover up a tummy and slims the thigh area

Minimize problem areas with prints!

This dress is perfect for showing off the curves, while hiding those trouble areas. And off the shoulder styles are a must have for when you want a sexy but subtle look. Find a similar option here and similar options for the sandals here. For the first time that I recall, I did not add any accessories to this OOTD, just let the dress do the work. This dress will be in heavy rotation!

Do you wear more prints or more solids?

Such a lovely dress, and I agree that prints help minimize problem areas. Great tip!

I’m more of a solids gal. But I’ve been working on that. Not making much progress yet; but working on it.
