Nesting Tables – More Or Less

Hello,
I recently posted about affordable decorating and how money does not have to be the driving factor when sprucing up your space. When calculating your decorating budget, remember that most home decor goods come in a range of price points. You have to decide how you want to spend your money. Today I’m bringing back the More or Less feature where we look at two items one high and one low. Let’s look at these nesting tables.

These nesting tables are from two moderate retailers, Target and Kohl’s. For moderate price points, these retailers are a very good option. But, these tables are exactly the same, yet one set is $159 and one set is $329 that is more than a $150 difference, $170 to be exact. Can you tell which table is the better price point? So in comparing these two products, how do you decide which set of nesting tables to purchase beyond just price? Two questions to ask – Are you brand loyal? Maybe you are Team Tar-jay all day everyday. Does one retailer offer other products to match the nesting tables that would complement your decor? For example a coffee table or console table.

So did you guess which one is $159, answer at the bottom of the post.

That is such a big difference, Robin! And you are right. They are the exact same things.

Yes, exactly the same, it pays to comparison shop.

Kohl’s overprices everything. You can find good clearance deals and sales, but I would never pay full price there.

Sonya, that’s exactly why you have to shop around!

Hmmm…I’m going to guess it’s the Target one, but they look EXACTLY identical. At least in the pictures. They probably are from the same distributor. I had no idea furniture stores did that too 🙂

Hey Merrie, yes they do and sometimes the products come from the same factory! Shopping around is key!
