Let’s Go…The Library Hotel

The Library Hotel

Hello,
Gosh I’m still not believing the year is almost over. As they say, time goes by fast when you’re having fun!! But this is a good time to travel and one of THE most important parts of your journey is the hotel. Okay, confession time – I’m a bit of a hotel snob. I’m a sucker for a cute, boutique hotel with good room service. Boutique hotels are usually smaller and offer that personal touch to its guests. Today I’m sharing a new hotel find with a “novel” concept – The Library Hotel.
The Library Hotel Front Desk

Right at the start, you get a sense this hotel is a little different. The hotel is located on 41st Street in New York City which is also referred to as “Library Way”. Along this street is a series of plaques with famous quotes about literature. The front desk is flanked by a wall of hard back books, the hotel has over 6000, and a wall of library file cabinets.
The Library Hotel
The Library Hotel has 60 rooms which are organized around the Dewey Decimal System and each floor is designed around 10 categories of the Dewey Decimal System, e.g. Arts, Literature, or Philosophy, etc. with each room designed around that category with its own collection of books.

Enjoy a good read in The Reading Room or in The Writer’s Den and Poetry Garden.

Or enjoy a delicious dinner and a good wine in the hotel’s bistro and wine bar, Madison and Vine!

This is my kinda spot! Now, it’s pricey over $200 a night up to over $450 a night. But if you like to read and relax, The Library Hotel is for you!

Would you like to stay in hotel that’s ALL about books and reading?

Ah, I wonder how many kids today would even know what the Dewey Decimal System was? I love staying in New York, too bad it’s so expensive to do so.
