Hi,
Yeah Let’s Go, for real. We’ve been looking at different aspects of travel for a few weeks now! You’ve got tips and tricks, luggage suggestions, neat travel accessories and even some pretty destinations. Travel is essential to broaden your horizons and that doesn’t mean you have to go to some exotic locale. You can find fun and adventure in your own backyard, your town.
Did you know we have 159 counties in Georgia, second highest right behind Texas? I haven’t visited half of those counties, think of all the new town squares, parks, farms, antique shops, restaurants, churches, attractions, and just overall interesting things in any town. Just Go, one day, grab a cooler, some sandwich fixings, chips, fruit, water, a sweet treat and a some sweet tea and hit the road. You never know what hidden treasure you might discover. Give it a go and let me know what county, city, state, or heck country we can add to the travel bucket list.
Just go…Happy Trails!

You are singing my song! I loooove playing Hometown (or close to it) Tourist! So far this year we’ve visited a nearby small town with all its charm, a local waterfall, and hiked a couple of new trails. Last weekend we took the whole family up to Gatlinburg, TN (total tourist-trap, gotta love it!!) And visited the Ripley’s Aquarium.

Hey Beckey,
Yes I’ve been reading about your “dates” on the blog, you’ve hit some cool spots! I love Gatlinburg, good shopping! Have a great day!
Yes, discovering what is in your own backyard can be fun – enjoy!
Hi Antionette,
Yep fun things can be found close to home! Have a good one!
Stumbled over on your blog from Whitney Nic’s blog and LOVE it! This article is truly on point and I need to follow some of the advice. There is so much to do in my area that a vacation really does not mean I have to jump on a plane and leave it. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hey Ayana,
Thank you very much for the kind words. A staycation of sorts of a good thing and there is so much you learn about your own town. Let me know how it goes! Have a good evening.
There are some many towns I want to visit in my state. I live in Arkansas and I still have not been to the diamond mine. Where you can actually dig for diamonds and keep any that you find. I think that next year my youngest will be old enough to go and enjoy digging around. We also want to take a train ride on a vintage train which is offered by another town in our state.
Hi Sonya,
Oh digging for diamonds? I’m in, that sounds like big fun! Enjoy!
