Hello pretties,
Midweek and things are humming right along. How goes it in your neck of the woods? We aren’t officially in a heat wave in The A, but I swear it feels like it, very HOT. Perfect weather for light layering pieces and my favorite this season is the kimono. I love this bohemian style trend and have worn this thing all summer long, including here. I wore these shorts on vacation, but was a little leery about modeling them on the blog. But after attending The Curvy Fashionista’s Style Expo and seeing so many full-figured pretties celebrating their size, I said no more, “I can’t wear this or that” on the blog. Nothing is off-limits so y’all better watch out! The day of the photo shoot was so hot calling for easy and breathable fabrics. Take a peek!
I paired the kimono with a tee, shorts, heels, and minimal accessories. Real talk, shorts can be tricky for plus-size women but totally doable. First, make sure the length is good. You want to show those legs but not have the shorts ride up when you walk, right above or below the knee works. If below the knee, rock a pair heels to give you more height and elongate the leg. Second, choose a fabric that has some give, say a stretch denim or a cotton. A better constructed fabric will give a smoother look. And lastly, keep the fit more loose. Tighter shorts could accentuate the lower ab area that might be a little “puffy” or the dreaded cellulite. This was a fun easy OOTD.

I love this look, I recently thrifted a pair of jean shorts and love how long they are as I am not a short shorts person – now I need to find a Kimono – maybe I’ll look this weekend.
