Boom! Pow! Wow!

The Details
Here!

Hey pretties,
Almost the weekend, you know I had to tell ya’! I just love this trend. It is so fun and quirky! It’s based on campy television shows like the old Batman and Robin series where POW or BOOM popped up on the screen in those ridiculously scripted fight scenes. Yeah I know, some of you are too young to remember…LOL! I would definitely wear this trend with of course my favorite, boyfriend jeans and maybe add a biker jacket to make it more edgy. And remember you can always dip your toe in a new trend by wearing just hints of it, such as the ring or the socks.

Remember I told y’all about the wildly popular and successful 3.1 Phillip Lim Collection at Target. The boom sweatshirt was one of the most popular items, guess what…wait for it… it’s $20.98, Boom! It’s totally OK to have something unexpected in your wardrobe.

Do you have something fun in your closet?

Enter the Holiday Giveaway and getcha some POW or BOOM or hey both. Enter with the Rafflecopter!

Jeans (Macy’s) – here
Boots(old)- similar here
Handbag (T.J. Maxx) – similar here
Bracelets (old) – similar here

Hey Pretties,
I should have titled this post blurred lines, it’s a bit blurry, bear with me. Like many ladies, I lean toward black a lot in my wardrobe. But this blue sweater called out to me. Love the v-neck and high/low hem, perfect for layering. Adding color can be scary but in small doses adds some spice to an outfit. The blue in this sweater is Mykonos Blue a Pantone Fall Color. Pantone is the organization that selects the color of the year for not only fashion, but across all industries.

Pantone describes this color as “…a bold, meditative blue, for a classic and relaxed fall look.” Describes this layered black and blue fall look perfectly.

Unplugged

November 4, 2013 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

North GA Mountains

Hello Pretty Ones,
Did you have a good weekend? I sure hope so! I had a blast hanging out in the Blue Ridge Mountains with a bunch of girlfriends. The “cabin trip” as we fondly call it is our almost annual event where we pack up and head for the mountains with no agenda except, talk, laugh, eat, sleep, repeat. These ladies are very dear friends that I’ve known for 10+ years and we take time out to catch-up and relax. The mountains provide a great back drop for chillaxin, one of my favorite pastimes.
Blue Ridge Mountains 2

The fall foliage was really beautiful and the setting serene and peaceful. I had some fun firsts on this trip – roasting marshmallows and playing Scattergories. Two thumbs up for both. But the biggest first was not using my cellphone for a whole weekend! Yep, unplugged with no cellphone service so – no calls, texts, or posts to Facebook or Instagram. Unplugged! I admit for the first few hours, I really missed my cellphone but not having it allowed me to focus more on fellowship than on status updates and photo opps. It would be a good exercise to unplug on a regular basis and use that time to nurture and strengthen all of my relationships. Seriously thinking about unplugging at least once a quarter! I’m recharged and refreshed ready for the start of the holiday season and another work week. Blessed and Thankful!

Have you ever just unplugged from all technology? Or would even do it?

rest and relaxation

Hi Pretties,
Happy Friday to ya’! It’s official, the holiday season has begun! But wait, before the hustle and bustle begins, now would be a good time for a getaway, I prefer scenic mountain towns. A quick weekend trip is just the ticket to rest the body, relax the mind, and recharge the spirit. Yeah I know it’s cliché but a few weeks from now when you’re basting the turkey, untangling Christmas lights and wrapping gifts, you’ll thank me! Today’s Friday Faves are essentials for chillaxin on a mountain retreat.

OOTD #28 – A Touch Of Camo!

Hello Pretties,
Camouflage is one of my favorite fashion trends. The military began using camouflage as military attire in the early 1900’s. Not just for the outdoorsy crowd, you can find camouflage all over the place in different colors and in unexpected styles. I made this outfit a little more sexy I’ll say by adding the top with the sheer neckline and arms. Now lovelies, wearing head to toe camo will definitely put you in the hunter girl or military maven category but adding it as an accent in a scarf, a top, or cute shoes is a subtle way to wear the camouflage trend.

What fashion trend are you trying this fall season?

Fall Finale

October 29, 2013 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

Hello Pretty Ones,
Have y’all noticed the department stores have Christmas decoration out already? I’m trying hard not to buy anything, especially since I haven’t seen any sales or good deals but it’s getting harder…LOL. Especially the unique Santa figures I’ve seen lately in rich velvet and fur, I really want to buy one. It’s nice to have a new Santa for the collection each season. Sooo I’m focusing on finishing fall decor so I can start working on Christmas!

I love updating for holidays, it really makes the house feel very warm and inviting and signals the start of the holiday season. Happy to have the fall decorating done! The mantle is still naked because I couldn’t figure out how to decorate around the dang television, really thinking about maybe it’s time for a re-do on the living room layout. I hope you are sprinkling some fall love around your home, next up Christmas decorating, woohoo!

I know some folks go all out for holidays like July 4th and Halloween. What’s your favorite decorating holiday?

For A Cause And A Cupcake

October 28, 2013 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

Hi Pretties,
How was your weekend? It was C-O-L-D here but that didn’t stop me from having an awesome weekend of fun with some very good friends! Saturday was the Heart Walk. Over 1,500 walkers braved 30 degree temps to walk for a great cause, raising over $150,000. This was a special cause for me – my dear friend Jada, a 38-year-old healthy woman had not one but two stroke events. So I was very honored to be a part of Coach J’s Crew, who raised over $1500, exceeding our team goal I might add. To learn more about heart and stroke health, and the “Salty Six“, click here.

And yes after walking a 5K, we treated ourselves to cupcakes from Miss Mamie’s Cupcakes, winner of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars.

Miss Mamie’s is quite cute, with a vintage, girly vibe. There’s a cozy seating area to enjoy your sweet treats among tufted walls and ornate chandeliers. The cupcakes were not only pretty, but quite delicious. I also did a little shopping to finish my fall decorating. I hope you all had a great weekend and will have an even better week.

3 Blogger Beauties You Oughta Know

October 24, 2013 by robincharmagne 3 Comments

Hi Pretties,
Can you believe we are almost to the weekend? I guess having a day off in the week makes it feel like the week is flying by! One of the things I love about blogging is discovering and following talented bloggers and today I’m featuring three of my favorite bloggers. First up, Molly from Still Being Molly.

stillbeingmolly

I adore this blogger because she is so down to earth and hilarious. She is not a woman afraid to laugh at herself and truly enjoys life. I admire her willingness to openly speak about her faith. I would call Molly a lifestyle blogger because she talks about everything from her new baby, to her love of Chipotle, and the latest fashion trends! One consistent fashion trend on her blog, scarves. She is the Queen of Scarves. Her words are so encouraging and heartfelt, checkout my favorite post here.

Next up, Amberly from A Slice of Glam.
asliceofglam

Her blog title says it all, this lady is glam, with her classic, yet effortless style. She is the epitome of a young professional making her mark on the world. Amberly is in the lifestyle category as well, and blogs about everything from beauty advice, to travel suggestions, and beautiful home decor. Her style inspiration posts are my go-to resources, this post on airport style is perfect. Checkout my favorite post here that showcases her glamorous sense of style and design.

And meet Victoria from VMAC&Cheese

I enjoy reading Victoria’s blog because it is in a word – beautiful. Her post layouts, graphics and photography are eye-catching. Her writing style is candid and humorous. As a lifestyle blogger, you’ll read everything from recipes, to book recommendations, and informative blogging tips. Victoria’s career started in culinary and her food posts are mouthwatering. Fancy Fall Tabletops

October 22, 2013 by robincharmagne 2 Comments

Hey Pretties,
It’s Tabletop Tuesday, yeah I made that up. Last Tuesday we talked about decking out your mantel for the fall season so today I’m posting some ideas for your fall dining table. Of course Houzz is the source for decorating ideas in a variety of settings.

Modern Dining Room by Phoenix Interior Designers & Decorators FOCAL POINT STYLING
Traditional Dining Room
Traditional Spaces
Spaces
Spaces
Traditional Spaces by Detroit Interior Designers & Decorators The Yellow Cape Cod
Contemporary Dining Room by Phoenix Interior Designers & Decorators FOCAL POINT STYLING

I’m partial to a table decorated to the max which means a complete table setting with all the trimmings – dinnerware, glassware, utensils and linens. Having a defined color palette makes it easy to coordinate all the components of the table settings. Some fall color suggestions – green, orange, brown, gold, and yellow. But you could step outside of the traditional fall palette and be a bit more adventurous like vignette number 6 in black, white and paprika. Also, white dinnerware works well for any color palette and you can re-use it for other holiday decorating.

I like the modern feel and dark colors of number 1 and the bold pop of color in number 6. Do you have a favorite vignette?
