Hello pretties,
Gosh this week, happy to be at Friday and ready for a 3-day weekend. I have been just a bit under the weather, but as the week progressed, I began to feel a whole lot better. Excited for this new month which celebrates a bunch of stuff, one being self-improvement. So this is a good month to recharge and reset your goals related to personal growth and development. If exercise is one of your goals, I hand-picked 6 goodies to help you stay motivated.

Jump Rope – Want to have some fun while burning a ton of calories? Pull out that jump rope. Great cardio workout.
Roller Skates – Grab the whole family and hit your neighborhood skating rink. Another great cardio option and is easy on the joints.
Gym Bag – No matter what exercise you choose, you must have a cute and functional bag, this one is perfect and it’s pink.
Massage Therapy – After these activities, you might be a tad bit sore. Use this kit until you can make it to the spa.
Candle – An exercise candle – aroma therapy is perfect cap off to your exercise routine.
Fruit and Veggies – Forget to get your five servings, this art will help you remember to get these important nutrients daily.

And, I have one more. My Mama always says, “a cluttered home, makes a cluttered mind” and I totally agree with that. This book is all the rage and talks about ridding your home of things that don’t bring bring you joy. Watch your mental health improve because you will have so much more clarity. I can’t wait to read this book.

I’m ready to recharge are you? How are you improving or taking care of yourself?

Have a safe and happy holiday!

Sunscreen Saves A PSA – Faves On Friday

June 19, 2015 by robincharmagne 7 Comments

Happy Friday Pretties,
Well, I have so much on my mind today, but I’ll save it for another post. A few things to celebrate this weekend Father’s Day and the first day of Summer. I’m happy to see the summer months but we’ll be outside a whole lot more so we need to take extra care in protecting our selves from skin cancer. Yep folks, it is serious and one way to protect your skin is using sunscreen. I handpicked a select group of products to meet almost every need for adults and the kiddos. Take a peek!

Sunscreen – the basics

Sunscreen is designed to provide a barrier between our skin and the sun’s rays. Now, there are two kinds of ultraviolet rays, UVA – which causes aging and UVB – which burns the skin. Always select a product that is broad spectrum which means it accounts for both types of rays. The second component is SPF – sun protection factor. The SPF should be 30 or higher. And the last component is application, slather on at l ounce, enough to fill a shot glass.

This best protection of course is staying in the shade and wearing clothes that cover your skin. But if you are having fun in the sun, wear some sunscreen. And yes, that includes EVERYONE!

Do you wear sunscreen? Have a wonderful Father’s Day!

Heart Health – Go Red – OOTD

Go-Red-For-Women

Happy Go Red For Women Day!
I have chatted with you pretties all week about heart health. Know Your Numbers and Move That Body are two ways to reduce your risk of heart disease and related illnesses. Today is my favorite part of this important campaign, it is National Wear Red Day! Women from all walks of life are rocking red outfits. To make this campaign more fun, I have teamed up with blogger friend Antionette @dedivahdeals to host a link up party. We want to see your Red from head to toe. There are no rules ladies, just link up your Red outfit, spread the word to other women and visit some other cool people in the link party.

With education and lifestyle changes, we can reduce our risk of heart disease. Just making small steps such as taking the stairs, eating less fatty foods, and managing stress can make all the difference in the world. Consult with your personal physician to map out a plan for managing your heart health. Your physician can also engage a Nutritionist to help you make better food choices.

Love Your Body – Move That Body

February 4, 2015 by robincharmagne 8 Comments

Fitness-weightloss
Hello Pretties,
We’re into the first week of February, the month of love. So in the spirit of the season, let’s talk about showing your heart some love by moving that body through exercise. Remember the facts, 1 in 3 women die of heart attack or stroke but exercise is a fantastic way to reduce the health risks associated with heart disease.

Love Your Body Basics

I know what you’re saying, ugghhh the dreaded “E” word, but exercise doesn’t have to be grueling, boring or expensive to benefit the heart – just walk. The AMA (American Heart Association) suggests just 40 minutes of aerobic exercise, at least 3 or 4 days a week is enough to positively impact your heart health. One of my favorite ways to get some exercise in is 5K Walks. A 5K is a 3.1 mile walk which isn’t too taxing. You can walk by yourself, but there’s tons more fun when friends join in. Need more information on 5Ks? Checkout Active.com to find a listing of 5K walks in your area. And, remember to add strength and resistance training to your exercise life. That’s it!

Let’s get moving ladies!

And, I’m so excited to see you on Friday for the link party with me and the lovely Antoinette @dedivahdeals as you show us your “Wear Red for Women” OOTD (outfit of the day).

Love your heart today!

Did you know heart disease is the #1 killer of women ahead of all forms of cancer? Yes lovelies we’ve got to take care of ourselves by managing our weight, blood pressure and our stress. You know I love a good infographic and the American Heart Association put together this one to commemorate 10 years of Go Red for Women.
Go Red for Women, heart health
And of course we have to talk fashion; here’s three beauties in red for under $40 bucks. Yeah I said under $40.

I love the long gown, so elegant but rather simple. Just add a minadiere and a pretty pumpand you’re out the door.

Are you wearing Red today? Oh yeah, I am! Have happy weekend!
