Storage DIY – Home Decor

December 7, 2017 by robincharmagne 9 Comments

Season’s Greetings pretties,
It is #housesprucing time!! Getting the house ready for the Christmas tree, lights, ornaments, stockings and all things festive. I have way more Christmas decoration than the law allows and I store it all over the house, including this cabinet that is actually a television stand. But, I hate that you can see all my home decor goodies and stored decorations through the glass doors of this cabinet. So I decided to cover the doors with a wall covering from Target.

Loads of storage space

Peel and Stick wall covering from Target

Sort of a floral, yeah a floral

Easy to peel and stick

Just 3 tools

Size it

Measure it

Cut it

Remove backing and stick

Smooth out the bubbles

One side done

I like it

This project was super easy and took about 20 minutes. This wall covering is Chantilly and retails for $29.99 per roll. Devine makes wall covering in a variety of patterns and colors and it is repositionable and removable. After the holiday season, I can just peel it off and leave the glass doors clear or add another covering in a different pattern. This furniture piece will match the festive feel in the room once all the Christmas decor is finished. Now to cover the other glass door!

Have you used a removable wall covering for furniture pieces?

Fall Wreath – DIY

October 25, 2016 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

fall-initial-wreath-on-robincharmagne

Hello pretties,
There is a Fall nip in the air here in The A so I thought it was a good time for some seasonal decorating. Adding a decor feature to the front door is a good way to enhance your home’s exterior. Take a peek…

Start with a wreath shell, which can be metal or twig, or even styrofoam

Select fall theme garland which could be just leaves or include some decorative items such as berries or nuts

Fall picks add interest and texture

Assemble and viola, a pretty feature to add to your Fall curb appeal

Supplies

Wreath shell
Seasonal garland
Decorative picks
Extra decorative items
Ribbon

This project was inspired by @faithnista and was not hard at all. I was lucky to get all the supplies at Hobby Lobby for 40% off during a fab sale except the “R” which I purchased last season. Y’all know my DIYs are 15 minutes or less, so it took no time to put this wreath together. I love the way it turned out and since it doesn’t scream Halloween or Thanksgiving, my front door will be dressed up for several weeks. I am already thinking of ideas for a Christmas holiday door.

Do you decorate your front door for the season or a holiday?

If We Were Having Coffee

October 21, 2016 by robincharmagne

coffee-chat

Hello pretties,
Let’s have a cup of coffee! This might be a regular series where we just chat it up, but for now, If We Were Having Coffee…

I would tell you I am binge watching Marvel’s Luke Cage on Netflix this weekend. I have heard sooo much about this show and being a sci-fi nerd, can’t wait to watch it!

I would tell you I am on the hunt for an oversized denim jacket. The longer style to accommodate junky sweaters or a hoodie. I don’t own one, can you believe it?

I would tell you I’m trying this pretty but super easy DIY from blogger babe Faithnista.

I would tell you I want to try meal delivery service to help me with this messy diet of mine – Real Meal Delivery or Peach Dish.

What would you tell me over coffee? Have a lovely weekend!

Little Dresses For Africa – Good Cause

June 7, 2016 by robincharmagne 10 Comments

little-dresses-africa-robincharmagne

Hello pretties,
Little Dresses for Africa is an organization that is near and dear to my heart. As I read the email for this project, I got all teary eyed. I knew this was a service project I would be all over. Growing up a true girly girl, my Mama loved dressing me and my sister in frilly dresses with patent leather mary janes, ruffle socks and grosgrain ribbon in our hair. Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of working along side my sorority sisters to make dresses for this worthy cause. Every little girl deserves to feel cute and special in a new dress. This project was sew easy, get it sew easy. We took a simple pillow case, cut off the top, folded down any ragged edges and then adorned with ribbon or other embellishments. Take a peek…
-dress-soo-robincharmagne

The finished dresses will be shipped to 31 countries in Africa. A blessing to be a blessing to these little girls. If you would like to know more, click here.

Summer Dressing

Making these dresses from all kinds of patterned pillow cases and ribbons, reminded me of easy summer dressing with a very popular trend – boho chic. Of course it is hot in Africa, but it gets pretty warm here in the South and you need easy, breezy styles to stay cool. The boho chic look is the perfect little dress for summer. I handpicked some of my faves.

I have had the pleasure of participating in many service projects as an Alpha Kappa Alpha woman, but this was by far my most favorite. I hope you will check out this organization.

Tell me about your favorite charitable organization or about volunteer work you love!

Custom Pocket Folder – Planner DIY

July 7, 2015 by robincharmagne 4 Comments

Hello,
Happy Tuesday! Short post today for a cute DIY for your planner. Of course you can buy these and some planners come with them, but it is much more fun to be creative and make your own and this one is for my Inkwell Press Planner. And, in keeping with my DIYs, this one can be finished in less than 15 minutes.

You’ll Need

Cute folders
A guide
Paper cutter
Pencil
Tape
Optional washi tape

Just follow these simple instructions for a custom pocket folder!

planner-diy-made-by-robincharmagne

Assemble the folders, cutter, pencil, tape, and guide

folder-guide

Use the guide to trace the shape of the folder

guide-trace-for-diy-folder

The folder is all cut out to fit your planner

diy-folder-tape-seal

Seal the folder using tape or get fancy and use washi tape

DIY-folder

Done! A place to keep journal cards, pens, or sticky notes

This is an easy project and will work for any planner spiral bound or notebook. Planner goodies aren’t that expensive but the tab can add up with stickers, pens, washi, etc. This is an economical way to add something fun to your planner.

If you use a planner, how do you customize for your style?
