Hello pretties,
April is a month of renewal and I thought it would be the perfect time to share with you, my lovely readers Bible Journaling. Journaling is a popular tool for memory keeping – family events, special occasions, all those special bits of life we don’t want to forget. So why not journal about our faith, in a very creative way. Take a peek…

Bible Journaling

Joanne Fink and Regina Yoder, the creators of Complete Guide to Bible Journaling: Creative Techniques to Express Your Faith, have created a beautiful guide for documenting our thoughts on faith. It’s another way to further think about a particular scripture, parable, religious figure – digging deeper if you will. To get you started, there are prompts – checkout page 9. You can use a variety tools; for example, washi tape, stickers, die-cuts, watercolor paints, hand lettering, etc. And, there is no wrong or right in bible journaling. But if that wasn’t enough, there is a gallery of real life examples of bible journaling for inspiration. The bonus goodies in the back are amazing – vellum for tracing designs, stickers, tabs, and much more.

This guide is the perfect tool to start bible journaling, with vibrant illustrations and lots of extras! I love this guide so much, I have one to gift to a lucky reader. Hop on over to my Instagram for all the deets.

Do you journal?

P.S. This is a great Mother’s Day gift!

Intentional – Word For 2017

January 2, 2017 by robincharmagne 17 Comments

intentional-robincharmagne
Happy New Year Pretties,
I hope everyone was able to take some time off during the holiday season to rest your mind and your body. It is another year and I am ready to begin anew. I have picked a word of the year before, read about last year’s word here. I chose intentional because I want to achieve some specific goals that require laser focus. So I need to take actionable steps that will lead to the fulfillment of these goals.

Three Ways to Live Intentionally

1 – Make a plan, write it down. You cannot be intentional on nothingness – so decide what it is you want and put it to paper.
2 – Be flexible. Let’s face it, life happens but we have to stay focused on our goals. When an obstacle surfaces, be flexible enough to re-route so you remain intentional.
3 – Give it time. Moving in an intentional manner takes time. Do not get impatient and take an action that isn’t intentional because you want to meet a deadline of some sort. Stop and regroup but still keep your intentional mindset.

I am ready to excel in 2017, lots of new things planned, including celebrating a big blog anniversary.

Do you have a word for 2017? Do share!!

Fitness Toys – Friday Faves – 37

January 10, 2014 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

Fitness_gadgets_robincharmagne

The Details:
Electronic smart fork – lights up and vibrates when you are eating too fast so you consume fewer calories – $100.00
Kitchen safe – enjoy a snack and then lock it up to avoid emotional eating, save those snacks for your cheat day – $49.95
Jawbone fitness wristband – tracks how you sleep, eat, and move – $130.00
Body fat/water monitor – includes your water weight – $59.99
Destiny’s Child – Jumpin Jumpin – $.99

Happy Friday,
How’s your 2014 going, still writing 2013? I have, more than a few times. But this year is off to a fab start. This week? That’s another story, just getting back into the groove, getting organized, setting priorities, revamping stuff, just getting it all together for a great year. I am in a three week training class so my posts will be slimmed down until I finish training. Can’t wait to fill you in!

I posted about my 50 X 50 Challenge and sounds like you lovelies are getting fine too! I am a gadget girl so today I’m posting some fitness “toys” to help us get Fit and Fabulous. The smart fork was all the rage at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) last year, we all eat too fast, this toy slows us down resulting in fewer calories. That food safe was invented for me. I can stash my oatmeal cookies and vanilla wafers and schedule a sweet snack for a cheat day. Now if I could fit a mojito in there too! Sometimes we think we’re really getting in, that Jawbone will tell the truth. And, I know y’all hate water weight, now we can see it and get rid of it by drinking more water. Of course you need some jams for your workout, get moving with Jumpin Jumpin!

Honestly just thinking about getting fit can be a drag, but these toys make it a lot more fun! I’m ordering the food safe! What’s your favorite fitness toy?

OOTD #16 – Florals Rerun

June 26, 2013 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Hello pretties,
Welcome to Wednesday, hope your week is peaceful, positive, and productive thus far. I didn’t realize how much floral I have in my closet. I think this is my 3rd OOTD with a floral. And I’m really loving how my clutch collection is growing. This outfit could have been called Eloquii because half of it is from sadly, the almost defunct Eloquii.

The Details:
Top(Eloquii) – similar here
Jeans(Macy’s) – similar here
Clutch(Eloquii) – similar here
Sandals(Shoe Carnival-old) – similar here
Necklace (My own)

The floral trend is wildly popular in fashion right now, but I like florals best as a complement vs. head to toe. But, I would love to try a very feminine floral dress. Perfect for a sexy date night! How are you wearing the floral trend?

Short Story

June 24, 2013 by robincharmagne Leave a Comment

short shorts

Hi there pretty ones,
I sure hope y’all enjoyed your weekend! I mentioned I worked a bit on Saturday which was cool and chilled the rest of the weekend. The weather was really nice here and noticed a lot of ladies sporting shorts. Now I don’t think that shorts have an age limit. If they make you feel pretty, rock on! But, here are some tips to wear them well:

-Decide what length you want to wear, too short and you’re showing your goodies, too long might be less flattering. Consider the inseam – of say between 7 or 8 inches which hits about about mid thigh.

-Consider a structured fabric that looks more fitted. The more billowy the shorts, the bigger you look.

-Keep your top out rather than tucked in(OK with a jacket or cardi).

-Daisy Dukes? Yep denim can work but keep em’ neat, with a hem or a cuff.

-High heels and shorts are fine, but better for a night out.

Are you wearing shorts this season?

OOTD #15 – A Dress or A Maxi

June 19, 2013 by robincharmagne 6 Comments

Hey Pretty Ones,
Well more rainy days but I’m not complaining because my grass is happy and I like the cooler temps. Today’s OOTD features a paisley/floral maxi dress that converts to a maxi skirt, clever huh, very versatile.

Maxi skirt

The Details:
Top(Eloquii) – similar here
Dress-convertible(Lane Bryant) – similar here
Belt(Eloquii) – similar here
Necklace (Caroline G shop) – here
Bangle(Charming Charlie) – similar here
Sandals(6pm.com) similar here

It’s good to have pieces in your wardrobe that are multipurpose, to stretch that wardrobe budget. This maxi dress/skirt fits the bill. Simple top with my new favorite accessory – the belt. The bow detail is a simple complement since the maxi skirt is kinda busy and give me a waistline. I’m itching to do another DIY using the lucite bangle, maybe add rhinestones. The 3-stone necklaces are a take on the ever popular bubble necklaces which I blogged about here. Caroline G also carries a 1-stone necklace that’s cute too.

How do you get the most out of your wardrobe?
