Hi pretties,
It has been some time since I blogged and I am so happy to be back today with a very personal post. Sadly, over the last 2 years, my family dynamic has changed with the passing of my Sister and my Dad. I would say 2018 has proven to be quite challenging, but even those words do not seem adequate with the passing of my Twin Brother earlier this year. Of course I miss them all terribly, but the passing of my sister and brother hit me especially hard. The three of us could not have been more different – John the tech guy, me the goody two shoes, and Nickey the rebel! We shared a love of anything with wheels and science fiction and defended each other fiercely against anyone, including our parents. I have so many funny memories of the three of us that will live on in my heart, but when Messages in Metal reached out to me, I discovered a very special way to keep them close.

This is a Montana based company that makes personalized jewelry to celebrate all the special moments and special people in our lives. These metal pieces are crafted in .925 silver and come with a chain. Some pieces are offered in gold plating and with beautiful Swarovski gemstones. I chose the infinity design with the names of my brother and sister.

Mother’s Day is this Sunday so I pulled together some cool gift ideas for Mama. I would buy my Mom every one of these pieces. My faves are the slides for their style and comfort and the sunglasses because you can not have too many pairs of “shades” right? Yes, you are now ready to sit back and enjoy some time off with this trio of goodies. No matter how your melanin is popping, block out some of those sun rays with a big hat and yes girl, everyone looks good in a big hat and stylish sunnies. A good size tote is perfect for carrying a good book and we love sand but not in our toes, so a simple pair of flip flops is just the ticket.

The Goods

First of all, this box is all about patriotism with this motif featured in the bag and scarf, but not way over the top. The scarf is really big and lightweight, more like a wrap. But for me anything with the flag on it is tricky. I respect our flag and I am not sure I should wear it as a fashion piece. The bag is in a rich navy blue and made of that popular sturdy, reusable material.

The monogram piece this month is a cute white razorback tee with my initials in a rich navy blue. Love it and it is perfect loungewear, a little thin for workout gear. The jewelry piece is a faux tortoise anchor necklace with a substantial gold chain. Definitely a quality piece; however, it really didn’t match the stars and stripes motif or the color theme – rich dark blue, but I do like it and can see adding it to my accessory wardrobe.

It feels like I have been away from the blog, so I’m happy to be back! I did take a quick road trip to Charlotte over the weekend which was fabulous I might add, more to come later this week! Of course y’all already know, no trip for me is complete without getting in some shopping! Long Time No Vlog

Hey Pretties,
It has been months since my last vlog so I was excited to film for y’all. There hasn’t been a video since the June No-Buy, which I’m never doing again. So this is a reboot of vlogs for this year and not so much favorites but some Fantastic Finds, take a peek!

Head to your favorite store and snag a plaid shirt, the number one must have for this cooler weather season. My first black faux leather jacket and it is definitely fantastic with the quilting detail. Faux leather has come a long way in the fashion industry and the quality is amazing. If you come to my house, you will find candles in every room. This Sweater Weather scent is so nice, not overpowering just a nice fresh outdoorsy scent for your home. Sometimes a purchase is too good to pass up and this Coach scarf was marked down to such a great price, I had to snag it and it’s pink. Tory Burch is a favorite brand but those prices though, so I eased into this brand with a red wallet that works for me day in and day out. This wristlet is too dang cute and a perfect gift for you divas that love shopping. NeNe Leakes just showed out with this wrap that I think she actually calls a cape. LOVE IT – coming to an OOTD near you.

It’s the weekend, love these short weeks! Coach is one of my favorite brands, an iconic American brand. Coach offers a full range of accessories and gifts – including handbags, small leather goods, shoes, boots, outerwear, watches, travel accessories, scarves, eye-wear, fragrance, and jewelry, for women and men. Coach can be pricey with some handbags and outerwear upwards of $1000, yikes! But, I’ve curated some goodies from the Fall 2014 line, all under $200. My favorite? Cosmetic Cases

Hello,
This week flew by! Not too many weekend plans, except my cousin’s wedding on Sunday. So Saturday will mostly be beauty stuff – hair, mani, and pedi. And, speaking of beauty, I vlogged this week about changing up my beauty routine. With these new beauty goodies, a new cosmetic case is in order.
