AKA Takes Over Orlando

South-Atlantic-Regional-Conference

Hello Pretties,

I’m baaack! Missed my lovely readers but oh man, I so needed that break. Feeling refreshed and ready to make some good things happen this week. I had so much fun, as usual, with my sorority sisters in Orlando last week.

When I tell you it was THE AKA TAKEOVER, yes it was a serious matter at the South Atlantic Regional Conference. The hotel was 95% occupied with over 5000 AKAs. Absolutely amazing, a sea of pink and green everywhere. The weather was perfect; rain was in the forecast but we didn’t see it until we left on Sunday! Winning! The Rosen Shingle Creek Resort was gorgeous.

It was truly a good time and the hotel treated the pretty girls like royalty, upgrading us from a “regular” room to the Grande Suite. I have never stayed in a suite and it was wonderful. The suite morphed into the Pretty Girl Parlour last week cause eerrybody hung out at the suite – too much fun. I have not laughed and been that silly in a minute – so good to be with your sorority sisters and just let your hair down. Just amazing. We hit the Orlando Premium International Outlet for a bit of shopping – huge outlet with all the big brands and I did not break the bank, but got a couple goodies, coming to the blog soon. Of course the regional conference is all about the business of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and yes we took care of our business while having fun and fellow-shipping and shopping and dining. I look forward to this event next year, Myrtle Beach…y’all ready?

How was your weekend? Whatchu do?

Looks like you had a great weekend! Mine was very chiil-ax. Did some shopping, took all the male folks for haircuts, did some napping, treated ourselves to some burgers, stayed up later than usual and slept in a little later. Nothing to complain about there!

I visited Myrtle beach 3 years ago, and hubby and I totally loved it. We stayed at the Marina Inn – Grande Dunes for a full weekend. What a beautiful place! I am glad you guys took over Orlando and had fun. I am also glad you are back, Robin. We missed you here.
